Playa den Bossa: Full of life

Playa den Bossa is the longest and most famous beach in Ibiza. It is a lively and busy and an ideal destination for sun-loving tourists, practicing water sports and enjoying parties at the beach during the day, shopping and everyone who want to enjoy all of the facilities alongside the beach. It is located by the Parque Natural de las Salinas (Salinas Natural Park) and only a few kilometres away from the capital city and the marina where you can enjoy a cool and casual atmosphere. In winter you can take relaxing walks along the fine-sanded coastline. During the summer months you will be absorbed by a genuine summer dream.

Playa den Bossa will fulfill all of your exepectations with its 2.7 km coastline. Ever since the first hotels were built in the sixties, this gorgeous beach has made its name amongst other European coasts. It has become one of Ibiza's main tourist centres. The southern side is ideal to enjoy a unique atmosphere that attracts celebrities. You will find a wide variety of services such as hotels, international restaurants, exclusive beach clubs, art cafés, discotheques open until dawn and the trendiest clubs: Ushuaia, Nassau, Bora Bora, Sands, Plage, Space... The list is as attractive as it is endless. At the other side of the beach there are other option suitable for all budgets and charming, classical places with a Mediterranean flair. If you are looking to relax we recommend taking a sun-lounger and beach umbrella and admiring the view of the Mediterranean Sea and Dalt Vila (Ibiza's Old Town).

    Organise your trip

You can start to prepare your trip to Ibiza today.  We will provide you with all the required information to make your trip to Ibiza the perfect trip.

    WHEN SHOULD I GO?

Ibiza has a typically Mediterranean, mild climate all year round. Any month of the year is perfect to go on a hiking trip. From May until October you will have the perfect temperature to enjoy the fine-sanded, golden beaches and peaceful waters.

Don't forget the most important festivities! Get to know the traditional ball pagès, romerias and street festivities. At night, the trendiest clubs and famous discotheques open their doors to attract those who love music and the night life. Pachá and Amnesia have been offering tourists the best international musical selection for years.

If you want to visit Ibiza for the best price we recommend you travel during low season. However, the prices will go back up during Christmas, Easter, bank holidays and the summer.

    DOCUMENTATION
Your ID and/or passport are essential to travel as well as your driving licence if you are thinking of hiring a car.
Young travellers, students or senior citizens are entitled to discounts on public transportation, museum tickets and other interesting sites.

    How do I get there?

Due to Ibiza's popularity amongst tourist, the island is well connected. It is easy to get to Ibiza from the main Spanish and European capitals. From Spain you can get to Ibiza by plane or by ferry.

    BY PLANE

This is the most comfortable and fast way of getting to Ibiza. Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is located 7.5 kilometres from the capital city centre and has over 6 million passangers every year. It is the island's main connection especially with international tourism.

It has many flights from regular airlines and low cost airlines from cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Girona, Málaga, Sevilla, Valencia, Alicante, La Coruña, Vigo, Asturias... Inside the Balearics, there are flights to Mallorca and Menorca

During the low season the flying options are still varied. The majority of the routes depart from Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. In the summer months, there is a wider variety of destinations.

    GETTING AROUND IBIZA

Upon arriving at Ibiza Airport there is a bus stop and a taxi stop and car hire offices.

    Public Bus

<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Bus number 10</strong>: It connects the Airport with Ibiza's bus staton, the ort and San Jorge. The bus ticket is 3.20 euros per journey and the buses depart the airport every 20 or 30 minutes from approximately 06:30.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Bus number 9</strong>: It connects the Airport with San José and San Antonio tourist centre. This bus only operates from 01/06 to 30/09. The bus ticket is 3.20 euros per journey and it departs every hour/hour and a half from 07:00.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Taxi stop</strong>: Look for the taxi stand sign at the Terminal: Arrivals. Please ask for a receipt in the event of a possible claim.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Car Hire</strong>: If you want to get to know the island, the best option is to rent a car at the airport. Although there is an excellent bus network that connects the main tourist centres and beaches, a car is the best way to get around. Prices are higher during high season.</li>

    BY FERRY

You can get to Ibiza by ferry from Mainland Spain (Barcelona, Denia, Valencia) or from Mallorca and Formentera. This is a good option for those who love travelling by boat, those who dislike flying or if you need to travel with your own car.

    PACKAGE HOLIDAYS

Many travellers buy a package holiday that includes flights or ferries, transfer to and from the Port or Airport and acommodation.

    Where can I stay?

In Ibiza you will find a wide range of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets. In Ibiza you can choose from resorts, many of them specialised in families, that offer all inclusive board. Most of them have swimming pools, leisure activities for children and for adults...

For those who prefer to stay in the capital city, Ibiza has city hotels located in the central locations. For a more intimate and private trip there are exclusive villas with all of the facilites needed. If you want to get to know Ibiza's most authentic atmosphere there is nothing better than the charming rural hotels and old manor houses that have been restored and are located in a pleasant natural environment.

You also have a wide variety of first class hotels located along all of the island's beautiful coastline. Check if your acommodation includes breakfast at the hotel. The majority of the hotels include buffet breakfast with a wide variety of cold and warm dishes. They also usually offer local dishes cooked seasonally.

    Medical Assistance

You may take out an insurance policy to cover medical assistance during the trip. We also offer a travel insurance policy, which covers medical assistancetheft and cancellation charges. Several private medical centres and private hospitals throughout many towns on the island offer medical assitance.

    MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

The Public Health Service has hospitals located in the main towns and medical centres spread all over the island. In Ibiza you will find Can Misses Hospital, located in calle Corona. There are also private medical centres.

The Red Cross has several emergency centres in many villages and beaches. As in the rest of the country, in case of emergency you must dial 112. The call is free of charge and you will receive attention immediately in four languages (Spanish, Catalan, English and German). They will coordinate all the required emergency services such as ambulances, Fire Department and Police.

    Currency and Customs

The Euro is the official currency in the Balearic Islands. As in the rest of the country, you may use credit cards for most of your financial transactions, especially in the touristic areas, where they tend to facilitate consumption to their clients.  There may be some shops or small bars that only accept cash.

There is a wide network of ATM’s in the main towns of the island, but please bear in mind that banks charge a commission if you withdraw cash with other banks’ credit cards.

If I book Flight + Hotel, when will I receive my travel documents?

Once the booking is confirmed you will receive a confirmation e-mail. The voucher for the hotel will be also sent by email plus the vouchers for any other services (car hire, transfer, travel insurance) if booked.

Please note that no flight tickets are sent due to most airlines using e-tickets. You only need to print our confirmation email where the Airline`s booking reference appears and take it with you to the airport with your ID/Passport documents.

Important: Some Low Cost Airlines (Ryanair, Easyjet, Wizzair, Blueair and others) now request all passengers to check-in online and print the Boarding Cards before departure through their corresponding websites. Failure to do so, these airlines will charge you a supplement at the airport.
