Summer Holiday Packages in Formentera

Formentera: Singular & Natural

Formentera, located south of Ibiza, is the smallest inhabited island of the Balearics. Its trimmed shape make it an island with a great coastal extension (69 km2) in spite of being a small island. When arriving in Formentera, you will breathe in that feeling of peace and quiet that make it a different kind of place. The turquoise waters are unique for their clarity, recalling tropical landscapes. This is due to the greatest meadow of Posidonia (an autochthounous sea plant) of the Mediterranean sea, declared World Heritage by Unesco in 1999.

The island of Formentera is small but accessible and comfortable at the same time. You can travel across the island on a bicycle, through its green paths, its pine tree forests, its salt mines and through its rural interior.  Its great environmental beauty and landscape, still unspoilt and wild, with dunes and well preserved beaches, greatly stand out. This is why no camping is allowed. Nowadays, the majority of Formentera's inhabitants live off of tourism, but still preserving ancient traditions. Only the natives' love for their land have made it possible to keep the island's identity throughout the years. Formentera is an island worth visiting and preserving.

Formentera: Singular & Natural

Illetes Beach

Illetes Beach, in the north of the island and the nearest to Espalmador Isle, is the most visited by tourists. It is the most accessible beach for those who go to Formentera on a day trip due to its nearness to La Savina port. The lack of waves and the wide spectrum of turquoises make the water feel like a swimming pool. Even though it is the busiest beach, walking further down the last authorised parking you can find many quieter and almost desert-like stretches.

Illetes Beach

Migjorn Beach

This is the longest beach in Formentera, with a 5 km extension that takes up all of the southern arch of the island. In it you can find a rocky and a sandy area. The great extension and geographical location make it one of the calmest beaches. It is accessible through several paths that cross the forest. The beach offers restaurants, hotels and water sports business, but not finding it extremely crowded.

La Mola Lighthouse

La Mola lighthouse, in the west side of the island, is considered by many visitors like a magic place. Near the lighthouse you will find a a monolith placed in honour of writer Julius Verne and his mention of the island and the lighthouse in the book Héctor Servadac. The island's highest point is Sa Talaissa, at 195 metres. La Mola is a great starting point to the paths that cross the forests and enter the most rural and authentic landscapes of the island, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, except during the artisan market.

Cap de Barbaria Lighthouse

Es Cap de Barbaria is the highest point of the southern part of the island. This haven is where the feelings of loneliness and freedom come together. This is the place where the famous scene from the Spanish film Lucía y el sexo was shot. It is a magical place to admire the sunset for its great views of the isle of Es Vedrà. its loneliness and majesty can only be truly admired at the actual place.
