Emerald Isle South-western Route I

Discover the delights of Ireland, from lively cities such as Dublin and Limerick to beautiful landscapes in the Ring of Kerry

Ireland will make you feel as though you're at home. The 'Emerald Isle South-western Route I' is an intense journey which will let you experience the charm of Ireland's most classic landscapes, delve into its compelling traditions and try its sumptuous cuisine, which is typified by smoked salmon, Dublin Bay prawns, the delicious Irish stew and the ever-popular classic that is fish & chips. This route is a genuine treat for travellers looking to explore Ireland and enjoy the freshness of its air at their own pace and without having to rush. It takes in historic places that tell stories of legends, kings, battles and heroes, lively cities such as Dublin, Killarney and Limerick, the first-rate hospitality typical of rural life and areas of stunning beauty such as the famous 'Ring of Kerry'. You will walk a land of castles, abbeys and monasteries that have been a source of inspiration for poets, musicians and artists for centuries. Awaiting you are countless kilometres of roads crossing emerald-green fields scattered with cottages (typical rural houses), incredible national parks such as Killarney National Park, expanses of intense colour and splashes of countryside, rolling hills, leafy forests, magical lakes and mountains draped in mist. Some areas run parallel to the sea, inviting travellers to explore quaint fishing villages, breathtaking beauty spots, beautiful beaches and steep cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. The itinerary covers some of the counties that best capture the essence of the country. Experience Ireland like a true Irish person by stopping off in historic pubs, drinking a toast with a Guinness and losing yourself in the rhythm of a live Celtic music performance. Savour every moment you spend behind the wheel as you explore one of the most beautiful corners of Europe.

Important remarks

- Triple rooms in Europe are generally rooms with twin beds or a double, in which a folding bed is installed to accommodate the third person. Due to the inconvenience this causes, we advise against using this option as far the possible.

- Check-in time at the hotel on the day of arrival depends on each establishment, but in no case will it be before 3:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

- The proposed excursions and tours for each day are purely suggestions, as you can tailor the trip to suit your times, tastes and needs.

- A credit card is considered a guarantee, so sometimes you will need one for check-in at hotels.

- Hotels usually have cots available. Otherwise, babies will have to share a bed with an adult.

- To pick up your rental car, you'll need a credit (not debit) card in the name of the person who made the booking, who must also be the named driver of the vehicle.

- Consult the necessary documentation to enter the destinations visited and for transit in the countries where air stopovers are made.

- This itinerary has been developed in collaboration with the Irish Tourist Office.
