Garden Route

This takes you on a famous African journey along the spectacular Route 62 highway along the southern coast of South Africa

We propose a journey through the southernmost part of the uncharted African continent. This is where it seems that the Earth ends. Explore this South African coastline, its closest coast to Antarctica but where you can still feel the heat, for a unique experience. Make your way from the cosmopolitan epicentre of art and design, Cape Town, down to Port Elizabeth, enjoying a drive along the scenic "Garden Route" as you meander along the spectacular "Route 62", flanked by the Indian Ocean amid white sandy beaches, dunes, lagoons and native forest mountains. Partake in some adventure sports amid unforgettable landscapes: hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, surfing... And, if you dare, skydiving and the highest bungee jump in the world. Immerse yourself in an amazing culture, which includes unique gastronomy and the best wines in the country. Experience the wild nature of Africa in its national parks and reserves, and along its coasts, where you will be surprised by penguins, dolphins and whales. And you can't leave without seeing elephants, which will create even more great memories of your trip.

Important remarks

- Driving in South Africa. 1. We recommend driving in South Africa with an international driving permit. 2. Keep in mind that many paths are roads of dirt and sand, and very few of them are asphalt, which requires drivers to go slowly and carefully. It will undoubtedly take you more time to cover the route than your GPS indicates. 3. Be careful with exceeding speed limits, since heavy fines are imposed. 4. We recommend a full tank before undertaking long routes because stations are few and far between in some areas.

- Triple rooms in Africa are generally rooms with twin beds or a double, in which a folding bed is installed to accommodate the third person. Due to the inconvenience this causes, we advise against using this option as far the possible.

- Check-in time at the hotel on the day of arrival depends on each establishment, but in no case will it be before 3:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

- The proposed excursions and tours for each day are purely suggestions, as you can tailor the trip to suit your times, tastes and needs.

- A credit card is considered a guarantee, so sometimes you will need one for check-in at hotels.

- Hotels usually have cots available. Otherwise, babies will have to share a bed with an adult.

- To pick up your rental car, you'll need a credit (not debit) card in the name of the person who made the booking, who must also be the named driver of the vehicle.

- Consult the necessary documentation to enter the destinations visited and for transit in the countries where air stopovers are made.
