The room was adequate for our needs as we were usually gone for most of the day. The breakfast was good, but seating was limited so we made sure we didn't linger once we were done eating. The staff was very personable and attentive. We had a problem with the toilet and the tv remote, but they were quick to accommodate our needs/request. We chose this hotel as we wanted to enter Yellowstone through the West gate and it was just down the road from that entrance. There were several restaurants nearby, but we ate at Firehouse Bar B Que Company which was excellent. The nightly rate was a little high for off season ($272), but one of the nights was a Saturday which tends to be a higher than other days. I would still recommend this hotel because of the staff and location.

“Not right room in right area that we requested.”

Nice room, but not the area we had specifically requested - twice. We asked for first floor and didn't get it. Got kind of a rude reception at the front desk when I asked why we didn't get what asked for. We got what they call "first floor" but in a separate building with 6 stairs down & up.

We try to stay at Best Western's whenever we travel so we have a pretty good idea of their quality. This Yellowstone one has a great location and most of the usual amenities they provide. The rooms are a little dates but they are a good size. There are two buildings on this property, the first one has doors that face the outside and the one in the back has interior facing front doors. We stayed in this one and I think it might have been a little quieter because of it. The down side to the rooms is that the ac/heat unit is limited to what temp you can adjust too and no matter what setting, low, high or auto, the fan kicks on and off. We like to have a constant fan in hotels for white noise as well as our room on the cooler side and this was not possible with the units. Wifi works great. There is fresh coffee and tea all day and the usual breakfast fare but it is a very small eating area and it fills up quickly. There is also a place to refill you water bottles for going in to the park. The staff was all wonderful and attentive to what we needed. We also had a dog with us and they we're out of pet rooms but made sure we were accommodated. For any pet owners, there is a big field/ park right outside so a great walking area. Parking is very limited and the lot fills up quickly in the evenings. There is no workout center and the pool is small but you're not here for those things anyway. Would recommend this hotel if you're in town.
