It was 8pm and I was tired from a long east coast driving day. I decided to try to find a place in Edison to stay for the night. I tried all of the name brand hotels in the area and they were all booked. I saw the E Hotel from the highway and pulled over to see if they had space. The outside isn't super nice and there is a "lounge" there which typically causes me pause. I drove around the parking lot and after seeing the well lit front entrance and the guests coming and going, I called the front desk and talked to the wonderful Kira. She said they had a renovated room so I got my bag and went to check out the lobby. Kira was all smiles and so friendly and helpful. She was helping me get checked in and was sure to be attentive to the folks waiting behind me. I was so impressed with her and how she handled the guests and all their needs. My room was on the 2nd floor (201) and it was really nice! The negative reviews for this place are not about these new rooms. The shower has one of those built in glass walls like the fancier hotels with plenty of perfectly folded towels. My room was so clean and the bed perfectly made. I think the bed is new as it was so comfortable and firm but not too much so. The air conditioning worked like a charm. It was quiet all night long and I had no issues at all. I actually had a really nice stay. Don't judge a book by its cover... Get a renovated room and let Kira take care of you and you will be glad you're staying at the E Hotel. I spent half of what I would've spent at the other hotels nearby and had a lovely experience.
