“Great stay at Comfort Suites Hanes Mall”

We had a very nice stay. Karen at the front desk was very helpful. Hotel and room were both very clean and in order. Breakfast had many many choices and was kept well stocked and the dining room was continually kept clean.

My family of 5 stayed in the large king suite. This room was wonderful and accommodated 2 teenage girls, elem age boy and of course my husband and I. The room provided a fridge, a pull out couch, and a king size bed. The room then continued into a smaller room that priced another king bed with a closet, dresser, and it’s own heat/ac unit. This room was only needed for sleep due to passing through. However, it accommodates all of our needs between comfort and privacy. The hotel provides an outdoor pool and a continental breakfast. The breakfast had several options and was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. The best part is the hotel being walking distance (maybe 2 min) to an Outback Steakhouse. The hotel is also less than 5 min from the Hanes Mall. Multiple options for food in the area from chick fil A fast food to local sit down restaurants. All in the comfort of a 5 mile radius. If just traveling and passing through, highly recommend staying here.

“Needs Improvement”

We booked the 2 king bedroom suite for 4 adults for a 3 night stay. We requested a late check-in and were able to get into our room within 5 minutes. The room was very spacious and clean. One main room with a king bed and sofa bed, and another separate room with a king bed. There was a sink, refrigerator and microwave provided. The king beds were very comfortable. Each room had it's own temperature control and TV. The room itself looked beat up, I'm guessing due to families booking it. The carpet had black something black stained on it. The dresser in the separate bedroom had a broken drawer and the other dressers top two drawers would not stay closed. The nightstands were visibly worn on the edges. The door between the two rooms wouldn't stay closed so we had to put something in front of it to keep it closed. There were white stains on one of the sofa cushions. We requested linens for the full size sofa bed, and received a king size sheet and stained blanket. The sofa bed mattress was terrible and you could feel the springs through it. We had to purchase a mattress topper in order to use it. We called down to the desk about it and the staff advised we try some extra blankets which we did try and it make it tolerable. We brought all these issues to the staff's attention and they did apologize, there was no offer of room change or price reduction. All and all the room was large enough to accommodate all of us and provide privacy, but was pretty beat up. Also, I do not understand why hotels offer sofa beds as an additional sleeping option and then provide a terrible mattress that no one would be able to sleep on even a child. On another note, this hotel location was fabulous. There is an Outback Steakhouse right next to it, a Starbucks in the next plaza and a small mall just across the street with a Burger King. A short drive up the road and you have pretty much everything in the way of restaurants, and shopping. If you are looking for a budget, clean hotel to accommodate a large family then this is a good option.

We arrived at about midnight and were quickly checked in. They were able to give us a 2nd room right across ours for the rest of our family. 2bd suite (rm 302) is spacious and includes a couch, coffee table, closet nook (inc iron and board), desk/chair, seating bench, small fridge and a microwave. Lamp has outlet and USB ports. Room has some wear and tear (paint? stain on carpet, damage inside the nightstand drawer) but pretty good overall and clean. Towels are very nice, great shower pressure and hot water. Pillows are quite lumpy but beds were comfortable. Standard hotel breakfast buffet (make your own waffle, eggs, sausage, etc) was good. Breakfast attendant was great. We have stayed in several hotels in Winston-Salem. This one is pretty good and we would stay here again.
