“Great Experience”

I had a great experience staying here. The hotel is clean, safe and staff was professional and friendly. The receptionists Christabel and Jefri were very professional and very helpful. I recommend this hotel for everyone especially families. I will stay here again when we go back to DC.

I loved this hotel. Modern decor throughout the lobby and meeting rooms. Comfy beds. Great blankets and pillows. The water well! And close to restaurants, shops, and museums. The staff were very friendly. Shout out to Jefri for helping me extend my stay!

“Best hotel!”

From start to finish, our experience at the Westin was superb! Housekeeping was top-notch and every staff member we encountered was kind and efficient! The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, the showers were roomy and the shower heads were luxurious!! Highly recommend!

“Way Overpriced 3-Star Hotel”

Waayyyyy overpriced. At $350+ per night I expected much more in quality and cleanliness. Instead this was about as good as the $100 per night airport Fairfield Inn I was at last week. While this Westin seems to have renovated sometime in the not-so-distant past, they only went half in on the effort. Two of the elevators had non functioning keypads on one side of the elevator. On our floor the fire emergency boxes, prominently placed between the elevator doors were dirty and moldy… not one or two of them , but all 4 of them. Our room had and updated bathroom EXCEPT the old school bathtub which had stress crack all around the drain and splotches of paint or mortar from the remodel effort that was not properly cleaned. The back edge of the shower had a thin line of black mold starting. The mini fridge would randomly decide to cycle every few hours making all kinds of clicking and popping noises for 5+ minutes , which had us thinking someone was trying to get into the room the first night until we figured out the culprit. The blanket on one of the two beds had notable pulled threads in several places. The TV entertainment system is very outdated and this Westin seems to have chosen not to install the standard Marriott entertainment and lodging system nearly every Marriott property has these days. We literally had to reboot the tv system twice to get the streaming apps to work. The Internet was also very laggy and clearly oversubscribed as personal devices had a hard time doing real time apps. Despite having late checkout the maid service came by the room twice, so I know they clean the rooms but are clearly in a rush to do so. Our room had long black hair on the spigot. There were short curly black hairs on the back of the toilet and more long black hairs along the baseboard in the bathroom. The other odd thing , which was a new experience for me despite staying at an average of a half-dozen different hotels each year for the past decade was the slanted floor. I thought it was just me after I kept waking up sliding out of the left side of my bed, but it turns out my son kept sliding to the left of his bed as well. There was also a notable dip in the middle of the floor between the beds. It feels very much like the entire hotel is sinking toward the middle of the building. It was minor but perceptible. I also thought the $30 per day resort fee was a bit much. It included Internet and water bottles (both free as a Platinum Bonvoy member), use of bikes for up to 2 hours in case we wanted to bike in the 105 degree weather, and a $30 per day spending credit but only the overpriced bar or room service ($30 for wings and a lemonade). For the prices at this Westin you are better off spending the extra $75-$125 per night and staying at a Ritz Carlton or St Regis. Or even go $250 per night less and stay at a Fairfield Inn. Thankfully the desk staff was nice and the lobby and main areas were modern and generally well kept otherwise this would be closer to a 2 star experience.
