“Fabulous hotel!”

Definitely a 5 star hotel. Great location & facilities. Incredibly impressive reception area. Great staff. Fabulously large hotel room & a great shower. The bar / restaurant service was impeccable & the food faultless. Would definitely recommend & stay there again.

No buffet breakfast available, only from menu.

“Beautiful, comfortable but with one big negative”

A beautiful building, spotlessly clean with very fast elevators. The cleaning staff were friendly, always asking if there was anything we needed when we saw them in the corridor. A beautiful building, spotlessly clean with very fast elevators. The cleaning staff were friendly, always asking if there was anything we needed when we saw them in the corridor. Our room was enormous, we'd obviously been upgraded from the size of room our travel agent had booked us into. Negatives...using paper cups in the rooms rather than china/pottery ones seems rather wasteful and not very eco-friendly. The final negative that made me seethe tbh, was not offering free WiFi unless you are a Marriott member. They wanted 12.95/day for WiFi, which, I'm sorry, in this day and age is absolutely shocking!!! This is the fourth and admittedly the poshest of all our stops during our trip and the only one NOT to offer free wifi. Get with the 21st century Marriott!!

I stayed at the Mayflower with my wife and toddler while attending an on-site conference. The location was good, with metro stations and food options within easy walking distance. Staff were friendly, and the hotel had a nice character to it. We stayed in a room with a king bed, and while it appeared nice at first glance, there were shortcomings. The TV stand and desk were combined into one unit, which did not allow for easy working space. There was a single chair in the room, which was neither relaxing as a side chair nor functional as a desk chair. There were no dressers, and the nightstand did not even have drawers, so storage was a problem for a 6-night stay. The window looked out onto a brick wall. The bathroom was functional, but one of the bulbs burned out on our second day and a hand towel hook would have been helpful. Beyond the hotel space, the conference space was substandard and detracted from the experience. The conference rooms were spread between two floors and required use of the main elevator bank to easily navigate. One room was too wide/shallow, and one room was too deep/narrow and had major sightline obstructions. Some of the lights flickered, and there were building machinery noises to deal with. Also, most of the catered food was low quality or unappetizing.
