We picked this hotel due to the location and pool outside! We were usually out and about in the city, so as far as a stay, it was just right- the staff was very kind and helpful, the $20 breakfast buffet was wonderful, excited for free cookies and popcorn at night, loved spending time on the patio at night playing games. Updates definitely need to be made: our bathroom didn’t have a fan and cold water didn’t work (shower was awesome!) , there are no microwaves in the rooms, and we have a big SUV and it was very difficult to park and drive in the narrow spaces. If we come back, we will stay here again!

“Great location”

We spent 4 nights here in May. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff friendly. We used the breakfast buffet once and it was really good. But, the best thing about the hotel is its location. It's walking distance to the Capital building or the White House or any of the attractions... more

We spent 4 nights here in May. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff friendly. We used the breakfast buffet once and it was really good. But, the best thing about the hotel is its location. It's walking distance to the Capital building or the White House or any of the attractions and memorials along the Mall. There is also a subway minutes away that you can get to Arlington cemetery or Dulles airport. Also, from the subway, you can a free shuttle bus to the Wharf area with all its restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel for sightseeing around Washington.

Location is good - walking distance to cafes, government offices and museums. There is a Starbucks on ground floor, McDonald’s and a pizza shop located down the road. A small market located on ground floor too. Room was big and spacious, enough for 2 adults with 2 large luggages. Bathroom was large too. We had an accessibility room. Room comes with tea/coffee facility, microwave, ironing board & iron, in-room safe box. Ice machine available at each floor. Coin laundry room available for guests at level 2. Letterbox (to mail postcards) are located opposite the hotel. There’s a concierge on ground floor who can help with enquiries. Breakfast buffet or Ala-carte available. For buffet, there’s an egg counter to order eggs of your choice. Other options include cereal, bread, pastry, fruits, hot dishes like scramble eggs and sausages, potato dish. Enjoyed our stay here. Will not mind coming back.

Great location for visiting the Smithsonian and Capitol Mall! Also only a half-hour walk to Nationals ballpark. Excellent staff, service, and food in the Bistro. Fantastic breakfast buffet, but pricey. We had requested an early checkin as well as extra pillows. Didn’t up with either; in fact had to wait an hour and a half to check in (arrived at 2:15 pm and didn’t get a room until 3:45 pm). This is unacceptable. And had to call for more pillows. I know that early check in is not guaranteed, but at least hire enough housekeeping staff to allow guests to check in at the stated time! Another guest just before us had been waiting 2 hours! Looks like it is an older hotel which has been nicely renovated, but infrastructure such as elevators, shower pressure, and wall outlets (NO usb ports at all in the rooms!) do need updating as well. Wifi is shoddy at best. Bed was quite hard and hard to get a good sleep (although my husband slept well). A school group was on our floor and they were running in the halls until 9 pm the first night, and until 10 pm the second night. We visited mid-May so keep in mind this is not the best time if you want to miss the end-of-the-year trips. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are no restaurants near the hotel. It was like the whole area in and around the Capitol shuts down at 5 pm. You have to grab the subway to go anywhere to find another restaurant. But there are excellent restaurants only a short subway ride away. Subways don’t have tap and go services on their entry gates (this was very useful in New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore)
