This was our first visit to La Jolla and what a lovely place. Hotel was very reasonably priced for the area and included breakfast. Only a 15 minute drive to San Diego. Prior to our arrival I had contacted the general manager, Rali (whose email address was on the booking confirmation) who made sure our break met all expectations and she went above and beyond to recommend places to visit during our stay. We stayed in a spacious king studio which had everything we required and compared to most places we stayed was quiet. The pool and hot tub area is a nice sun trap and the beach is less than a five minute walk away. Very close by are some very well priced bars and restaurants for the area

We've only stayed at the hotel for 2 nights but for a short stay, I think it's a good pick. This is the typical hotel where your door open to the outside. We've only stayed at the hotel for 2 nights but for a short stay, I think it's a good pick. This is the typical hotel where your door open to the outside. Clearly an older hotel that has been renovated few years ago, there are signs to small repairs but nothing major. The room was clean and well kept. The breakfast was the standard from Holiday Inn Express and located near the pool. This hotel is very close to the sea, within less than 10 min you could see and feel it. Nice way to see a sunset. We use the hotel as a location to drive around quickly for locations on the coast but we noticed that there are multiple little shops/restaurant at walking distance. One less interesting point was that the cleaners break area is right next to the rooms and is noisy. Also they are leaving a lot of equipment outside all day.

“Just O.K....”

Pros. Great location. Clean grounds. Good size pool. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Cons. Very bad housekeeping. Did not take our garbage away. We had to go to front desk twice in 8 days to ask for toilet paper. Room felt damp and not comfortable. Family of five 3 teen boys. Overpriced...
