Beautiful resort property. We just spent 3 nights at the property which we visit for new years each year. Andrea at the front desk was kind and courteous and upgraded our room as platinum members . Andrea was a true pleasure and professional and gracious. Umberto was also terrific as our bellman. We throughly enjoyed the whole property and breakfasts were beyond wonderful. Simply deducting one star as citron unlike previous years had absolutely no decorations or balloons for New Year’s Eve. People all dressed up in the room the same as it is for breakfast seems a little lacking as a long term Marriott shareholder. Also on new years the holiday village had half of the fronts empty and the tattinger champagne airstream closed so no one could buy the champagne on new years. Do not understand that as a guest or shareholder. The rest of our stay, the facility , the other restaurants and the staff are 6 stars. Sorry for the constructive criticism but I hope it helps for next year. Always recommend this incredible property!

The facilities, staff, food, and atmosphere of the JW Marriott Grande Lakes are one of a kind. The pool area, kids activities, and surrounding grounds are top notch. The food at all the restaurants including the pool area food, are delicious and worth the money. The free breakfast for titanium members was one of the best we’ve ever had! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The spa is relaxing and serene. Despite how busy the hotel was, everything ran smoothly. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to the room. We were “upgraded” to a seemingly gorgeous, huge, 1 bedroom suite. The aesthetics of the suite were masking the problems which came to light the first night - loud, random noises all night long. The noises were: moving and banging above, popping noises from 10pm on, vibrations from the floor to the bed all night, loud generator type noise sporadically, and a whistling noise from the air conditioner (we kept it off the entire trip). We did move rooms but be leery if you’re “upgraded” to suite 3058 and refuse the upgrade if noises will disrupt your sleep.

Hotel is very nice very clean and the staff of the hotel were very pleasant to work with. Bar staff was excellent. I would stay here again. Now for the few issues. I left my room at 11am on 12/29 removed the do not disturb sign from my door. I did not return to my room until 5:30pm and my room was never serviced. The elevators bounce while in transit some sort of vibration and it appears that some elevators were not even in service. (Not 100% sure of this, but seemed that way) . The self parking lot gates were malfunctioning to the point where there was a line of at least 8 cars waiting to exit, This happened multiple times throughout the trip. When I mentioned to the front desk I was dismissed as user error. When I said it was multiple people having the same problem it was dismissed again. Eventually by my last day the problem was resolved. Lastly this hotel is further than others as it relates to the Disney parks. It’s about a 15 to 20 min drive.

We were doing a quick trip to Disney and decided to stay here. We have stayed at the Ritz property in the past and loved the JW pool but for a quick trip and the price difference decided that the JW made more sense. We were pretty disappointed. I had asked for a room view upgrade based on Marriott status prior to check in since I saw availability online but we were not given it and instead got a tiny set of connecting rooms with a view of the roof of the adjacent building. I did share that feedback in a survey and was so surprised to hear very quickly from Paola who offered to change our rooms that evening to a better view. Quite impressive and appreciated. Once we switched we had no issues overnight the first night. On night 2 after a long 13 hours at the parks, all my kids wanted to do was shower and go to bed. A huge smell of cigarettes came through the bathroom either from something in the bathtub drain or an adjacent room venting in or something else. Whatever the cause, the smell permeated my boys room and started to come into our connecting room as well. No matter what we did in terms of closing the drain, venting the balcony, nothing worked to make the smell go away. It was too late to do anything about it and we figured it would go away by trying to ventilate overnight. But early in the morning after a sleepless night for my oldest who is asthmatic and was so nervous about the smell, it still stunk and we decided to just skip the water park for the morning and check out asap. The staff members we encountered were very nice throughout our stay but the rooms certainly left much to be desired. I don’t think we will ever stay there again.
