Daniel Carino the Hotel Manager displayed great hospitality making sure our wants, needs, and concerns were met during our stay. He was very well educated about the city and made sure our visit in town was pleasant. We really enjoyed our 4 day visit!

“Wonderful Stay”

Intro: We came around 7:30am on Monday 6/3/24. I fully expected to have to drop off my bags and then go to Universal. Intro: We came around 7:30am on Monday 6/3/24. I fully expected to have to drop off my bags and then go to Universal. Nope, the room (upgraded to Deluxe from Standard, likely due to Hilton Diamond status) was ready! Grateful to have the room to wash up after a red eye. We had time to get some breakfast before catch the shuttle to Universal. The good: 1) Great service everywhere. There was plenty of staff who proactively cleared the tables during breakfast. They also actively refilled the food and cleaned up as soon as anyone dropped something around the food trays. I also think their omelets are the best I've had at any Embassy (or other all-inclusive/breakfast included hotels with an omelet station) 2) My boys (11 and 9) loved the pool (decent size, not huge) and splash pad area. The pools don't get too deep (I think 4 ft was the deepest). They had games/activities/movies for kids everyday. My kids didn't participate much because we were tired from the theme parks but I saw lots of kids out there having fun. 3) Evening reception didn't have vouchers or limits on drinks. They had a specialty drink everyday (watermelon margaritas, mango margaritas, rum punch) as well as Bud/Lite draft beers, wines, and spirits to make drinks. The bartenders all had cheery attitudes. I would have preferred the snacks to be mixed up a bit. It was chips and salsa, potato chips, pretzels, popcorn, and chex mix every day. General Information (up to you to decide if it's bad or neutral): 1) The shuttles do not run constantly throughout the day. However, the schedule is posted on their website so you can plan even before tou book the hotel. We got up around 7/7:30 everyday, got breakfast, and was able to catch the 8:15am shuttle to Universal. We'd get there before the parks opened at 9am. Then we'd be tired right around 4/4:30 so we'd head back out to catch the 5:20 shuttle back. It'd get back in time for the evening reception which ran from 5-6:30pm. (There was another drop off time around 11 and pick up time around 7 for Universal. I didn't notice the Disney times because we were going to Disney). 2) The hotel is dated but not the worst we've been to. Definitely no bugs like some reviews have mentioned. We made sure to ask for rooms away from the pool. The elevators by our room (far side from the pool) worked perfectly. My boys did say they tried the other elevators and noticed they were slower. The ice machines in our area were not working, but my boys were able to go down near the pool and get it. 3) Housekeeping was a bit off. When we got to the room, one of the beds didn't have a flat sheet under the blanket. We asked for it and they came right away. They said their policy was to not to provide housekeeping until the 3rd night so we didn't leave the "Do not Disturb" sign out. After the first night, they came in, made the beds and changed the towels. They didn't check the shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and we had ran out on two so I had to ask them to bring new ones (which were promptly provided). After the second night they came in, took all the towels, didn't replace them, and didn't make the beds. Luckily we had some of the pool towels in our bag from the waterpark. We asked for towels and were promptly provided with the. After that, we just put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign up. 4) Food prices were ok (about $14 for burgers, $25 for pasta, $27 for sirloin steak). The kids had kids burger and spaghetti: they were ok. One night we had the Embassy burger, asked for medium rare and it came out very charred, bitter to the taste. Seafood pasta: shrimp and scallops fresh, seasoning was ok. Grouper and shrimp: very fresh grouper but seasoning was way too salty. By far the stand out was the shrimp tacos which were delicious! Loaded with fresh shrimp and guac, and the ratio was just perfect. All in all, we had a wonderful 5 nights stay. There were some mishaps but they were addressed promptly and didn't mar our time. I'd say this was one of the best Embassies we've stayed at.
