Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort

“Great for a short stay. Would come back if the the rooms get remodeled”

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, this property is surrounded by stunning views, wildlife and a gorgeous golf course. Unfortunately, the rooms are very much outdated and need to be remodeled. Our room was musty, bathroom needed cleaning

“Wedding resort.”

The resort and grounds in itself was gorgeous. The rooms however were dark outdated and looked like old apartments. There were 3 sinks in our room. Why does someone need so many sinks? That was very odd to me. They aren’t well labeled in the actual buildings and room #s need to stand out more. ... more

The resort and grounds in itself was gorgeous. The rooms however were dark outdated and looked like old apartments. There were 3 sinks in our room. Why does someone need so many sinks? That was very odd to me. They aren’t well labeled in the actual buildings and room #s need to stand out more. We were there for a wedding which we had a block of rooms. Oddly, the “block of rooms” were scattered throughout the grounds, some in each building where we wished we were all together.

“Great memories…but…”

We enjoyed the pool time, the food at the restaurant, and the karaoke night. For the price point, however, we were disappointed in our room. We enjoyed the pool time, the food at the restaurant, and the karaoke night. For the price point, however, we were disappointed in our room. For the price point we were hopeful my to stay in something a little more renovated. Also, our AC was not cooling properly, even after two calls to the front desk and two groups of workers looking into it. The sleeping portion of our stay was not as comfortable as we would have liked. But the experience we had with the family activities were something we will remember fondly.

The clubhouse and grounds are beautiful! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service in the restaurant is slow. The clubhouse and grounds are beautiful! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service in the restaurant is slow. The servers just don’t seem to be on top of it.They disappear for what feels like forever just to get a Diet Coke. I noticed other tables having issues with this as well. The big disappointment are the rooms. Do not be fooled by the photos. The rooms are old. There is a reason there aren’t pictures of the bathrooms on the website. They are very dated. Cleanliness in the bathroom was also lacking. I won’t go into detail, but I questioned if our toilet had been cleaned. The pool is fine. The furniture around it needs to be replaced as it is worn and faded. It would really elevate the space with new furniture. There is a nice turf area next to it that has games. That is fun for kids and adults. We spent time at the pool and the clubhouse to avoid being in our room. If they can remodel the rooms and bring it up to match the level of the clubhouse, then this would be a great resort. The Hill Country desperately needs a well maintained resort. Tapatio Springs has the potential to be that, they just need to fix some things to get there.
