“Customer Service Could Be Improved”

We stayed at this Hampton on Oct. 22 and 23 as part of a weeklong trip where we stayed at 3 other Hamptons. All were pretty much a typical Hampton stay - good service, friendly staff, clean facilities - with this property being the sole exception. On the 1st night we realized the TV wasn’t working. Front desk staff, Meshell, said that no staff was on site to resolve, but she would note it for repair next day, discount promised. On the 2nd evening, tv still not working. Meshell was on the desk again, accompanied by Gianna. Meshell was not overly engaged, again discount promised. Gianna, though, offered to come to the room to try and resolve. She was not successful, but at least she tried. No discounts were applied for the inconvenience. All other Hamptons on this stay followed up with a satisfaction survey, but not this one. Obviously we weren’t in the Syracuse area just to watch tv, but if you say you’re going to do something, then do it.

“Disappointing for a Hampton Inn”

My stay was disappointing. The hotel needs maintenance - the carpet in hallway is buckling, causing a tripping hazard; the shower head sprayed water up onto ceiling and bathroom door (despite trying to adjust it); drywall crumbled from the windows when operating the shades. My stay was disappointing. The hotel needs maintenance - the carpet in hallway is buckling, causing a tripping hazard; the shower head sprayed water up onto ceiling and bathroom door (despite trying to adjust it); drywall crumbled from the windows when operating the shades. Housekeeping was not good - we had daily service but counters were not wiped off, coffee was not replenished, bed was partially made. And throughout the day as we came and went, bags of trash and dirty linens were left in the hallway outside every room. I expect that as the staff is actively working but not for the entire day. Breakfast was ok. And the staff was mostly friendly. This hotel is acceptable but not up to standard for a Hampton Inn.

Over the years, we have stayed at the Hampton Inn chain in many places in the US and Canada. Over the years, we have stayed at the Hampton Inn chain in many places in the US and Canada. It was our go-to chain knowing we would have a clean room, good amenities and comfortable beds at a reasonable price. It’s been about 4 years since we traveled. The quality of the Hampton Inn has declined while the prices are higher. The beds were OK. The room needed a carpet cleaning. They did not provide hair conditioner in the shower. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel.
