“The best!”

Excellent place and beautiful views!!! It was so nice leaving cold and rainy SC for gorgeous St Petersburg!!!! I truly enjoyed my stay, and knowing you’re staying in a safe, comfortable place that’s within minutes of everything took so much stress off of everyone!!!

I would give a 4.5-star review. My reason for not giving a full 5 stars is because the hotel is going through major renovations. I will be excited to see when the renovation project is completed. Heads up, as some other travelers already mentioned, the renovation does cause a bit of a problem in terms of there only being one elevator in use and the stairs are not accessible. The staff was incredible. As a seasoned traveler, I have stayed at plenty of hotels, but the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Kudos to the St. Pete’s the Hampton Inn staff! As with most cities, you will find an above average homeless population. I understand this has nothing to do directly with the hotel but it does present a problem if you're traveling late at night or if you are a solo traveler. I was also advised by staff that the stairway door had to remain locked and inaccessible because homeless people get into the hotel. That was certainly a little nerve wracking to hear. You do see a lot of homeless people in the area. They do not appear to be aggressive or unruly but you should still be alert. Traveler tip: we were going to use the FREE trolley that runs on Central Avenue to go to the museum. When we boarded the trolley there were a few indigent people on the trolley. The trolley driver told us this is common in the area and if we were expecting to come back later in the evening it would be filled with homeless people. We opted to drive to the museum, which was not too far and had plenty of free parking. If possible, I would suggest using your own transportation or car service. The location of the hotel is perfect and walkable to the St. Pete’s Pier, restaurants, nightlife, and museums.

It's a nice Hampton Inn and is really, really well located for sightseeing in St. Petersburg. It is in a renovated Mediterranean style building that looks classy from the outside and is on Beach Dr. near restaurants, the water, the pier and within walking distance of the Dali Museum. The rooms are nice and clean and literally everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms on the far side of the hotel look directly into the neighboring building so avoid those if you can. The rooms on the front side give a refreshing "Old Town" view of the small street where the entrance is. Some rooms have balconies. The breakfast gives lots of options and the breakfast room is sunny and cheerful.

On the plus side, the location can't be beat. Rooms are generous in size and the beds are comfortable. On the lesser side, the whole place is flat and uninspired. The lobby lacks any energy. The swimming pool and deck are adequate, but plain. Breakfast is sad - styrofoam plates and plastic silverware. Two nights in a row, we got back to the hotel after dinner and a walk only to find the "hot water" at the complimentary station to be lukewarm at best. This is a three to four-star place. I was generous with four.
