Very nice hotel -- and good location, a block or so away from the real hustle & bustle of Solvang. Very nice hotel -- and good location, a block or so away from the real hustle & bustle of Solvang. Friendly staff at the front desk, a fun bartender at the V Lounge (hi, Rick!) and a well-heated pool and hot tub. It was a little pricey, but it was a weekend (and Thanksgiving) so I'm hoping for a slightly more affordable visit at a later date. But I'd love to return!

“Worth the stay”

My family and I tried this as a new place to stay in Solvang this year and all in all it was great. The double queen rooms are not very big but big enough, clean and very nice friendly staff. My only complaint would be that they do not have a designated pet relief area like some of the other hote… more

My family and I tried this as a new place to stay in Solvang this year and all in all it was great. The double queen rooms are not very big but big enough, clean and very nice friendly staff. My only complaint would be that they do not have a designated pet relief area like some of the other hotels do. They just have a very, very small area next to the parking garage and that's really it, past that spot you have to walk your dog around the small property trying to find a spot for them to go potty. It would be nice if they had a bigger area out back somewhere just for the dogs to use so that you don't have to wonder around the front of the hotel on the main street in your pj's trying to get your dog to go potty. Past that it was great and if you don't have a dog then you're good to go, great location, walkable to everything in Solvang, and a very trendy bar area great for a night cap. I also liked the text messages that I received about things the hotel was putting on, really made us feel welcomed and gave us other options for things to do at night.

“A nice stay that could be a bit better with just a bit of “fine tuning”. . . .”

Short and sweet. . . we stayed for one night on 12/11/24. The employees we encountered were exceedingly friendly and made us feel welcome. No issues at all in that regard. Our room (306) faced the back of the property which included a very nice view of the hillside behind the hotel. The room was VERY large but also VERY "bare bones" relative to some additional interior decorating that would have made the room much better for our stay. A few examples: the room included a large couch that was pushed up against a side wall (for no apparent reason) but there was no coffee and/or end tables or something to put drinks/food on if you were sitting on the couch. Additionally, the room was so large that they could have easily put a large dresser of some sort up against the wall where the TV was located so you had a place to put your clothes and other essentials (note: I doubt that all the rooms in the hotel are as large as the one we had so not sure how the others are functionally set up). There was a workplace wall “credenza” of sorts where you could set up a computer to do some work but no light directly overhead for that area so that would be a nice addition. We had to turn the room heater on but could barely feel any heat coming from that system – others have mentioned how loud the heating system was in their rooms but that wasn’t the case in ours. The bathroom was clean with a nice vanity and overall updated design. There was excellent water pressure in the tub/shower although the water pressure in the bathroom sink was almost nonexistent. The building we were in which included the check in/out desk had a nice little lobby with some comfortable looking furniture to sit on and enjoy a nice fireplace which they had going. Coffee was available 24x7 which was nice. Others have mentioned and it’s true that the hotel elevator is incredibly slow so something to be aware of if you can’t climb stairs easily. They did have a nice underground parking garage. The hotel itself is well located relative to the main part of town - about a 5-6 minute walk to where all the action is. Overall our stay was “good” but not great. Not a complaint but just an honest assessment. We would stay here again if visiting Solvang but might look for other options just to see how other establishments fare relative to the Vinland.
