This is a great place to stay in Sedona, very close to everything restaurants, hikes and shopping The Village of Oak Creek is a golf mecca in Arizona. The mountains are beautiful it even gets nice and cool in the evenings. Relax by the pool in the afternoon and watch the summer monsoon role through the beautiful red cliffs. We would get up early every morning and watch the sun come up from the various trails that we would hike There are said to be a few vortex sites and can be very inspirational. And of course quite a few crystal shops for more inspiration and healing stones

“Great Views amid the Red Rocks”

This is a great place just outside all the bustle of Sedona. Close to the side roads to the wineries, and close to the highway to Flagstaff. And, best of all, its on top of one of the loveliest and challenging golf courses in the area! Hole 10 proves it!

We recently completed a 3-night stay at the Ridge on Sedona. My husband and I, plus son and grandson stayed in a 2 Bedroom - 1 King 1 Queen, Suite, plus sofa bed unit that backs on to the 18th green of the golf course. While we have noticed improvements since Hilton took over from Diamond, there is still a way to go before this becomes our destination of choice in the Sedona area. The Good – the unit is large with plenty of storage. It comfortably slept 4 adults. It is located in a beautiful area in Oak Creek (south of Sedona) and some units back on to a beautifully maintained golf course. However, and there is a however……the unit was in dire need of updating and maintenance. Examples include ceiling fans that were so out of balance they could not be turned on (with temps hovering around 110, we needed all the cooling we could get! The wood furniture is well used and could use replacement. The dining table easily tips over if the edge is used to assist an older person getting up from the chair due to the small center located legs. The door enclosure for the air handling system would not close and the system had a loud rattle, so we had to use a suitcase to prop the door closed. We found the sheets and pillowcases to be rather “rough” in texture and the pillows are very firm and high, not a comfortable “squishable” type of pillow. Beds are on the firm side too. I put 3 swimsuits in the combination washer/dryer to wash out the pool chlorine and to have them dry for packing the next day. After a two-hour wash/dry cycle, the swimsuits were still damp so they were hung to dry. The resorts website lists that this type of unit sleeps 8, however, there were only plates and silverware service for 4. Also, there are no mixing or serving bowls, nor serving spoons. There is one small cookie sheet (stored in the oven). There was adequate sharp knives, grilling tools, and prep tools. The choice of pots is one medium size and one large “pasta” pot, plus a medium and small skillet. There were no lids for the smaller pot, nor for the skillets. As I enjoy cooking for my family, even on vacation, it was a bit of a challenge. We felt that the “worst” part of our stay was the swimming pool located across the street from our unit. It was filthy!!! As we own an inground swimming pool, we are familiar with proper pool maintenance. This pool was covered in insects on the surface. There is a large build up of, in some places, black scum (probably from suntan lotion) at the top of the tile line as well as a calcium buildup on the tile line. The leaf baskets were not properly seated in the container and the pool attendant said that replacement baskets were on back order. We never saw anyone test the pool water for proper chemicals. This pool needs to be drained and thoroughly cleaned as well as the tile bead blasted to get rid of the scum and mineral buildup on the tile. There were also some “questionable” things floating on the pool floor…there were infants in the pools on a couple of days and perhaps a swim diaper leakage? The Kool decking has been painted a darker color and it becomes extremely hot during the day (especially when the temperature is nearly 110). I burned the bottom of my feet one day walking to the pool entry! There really needs to be some type of shade structure erected to protect pool guests from the extreme temperatures of the Kool decking, there are very few umbrellas on the pool decking. Visiting the pool on multiple days also showed that the same dirt accumulation on the bottom of the pool was present on multiple days meaning the pool cleaning system was not working properly. Everyone visiting the pool during our stay commented about how dirty it was. Ending on a more positive note – the employees at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The location is very good, it’s a quick drive north to Sedona and there are restaurants and a grocery store nearby. Parking was adequate too.
