I don't know where to begin. The hotel is lovely with great showers and good coffee with a well stocked snack bar in the lobby with a regular bar for relaxing with a nightcap. The grounds are nicely landscaped with plenty of free parking. But this review is all about the hotel staff. Every single person that I've interacted with on this trip has gone above and beyond to help with everything from a minor inconvenience to a major medical emergency! They have been helpful, patient, caring, and as genuinely nice as human beings are capable of being. If I didn't know better, I would say the hotel was staffed with guardian angels. My dad and I are here together on vacation. On our second night in the hotel, a group of extraordinarily rowdy people moved into the room next door to mine. TV blaring until 2 am, loud fighting, yelling in the hallways at all hours... you get the idea. I went down to the front desk the next morning to see if I could switch rooms for the rest of our stay. Not only did Rob at the front desk move me to a new room, he also comped my single restless night. Hotels don't have much control over rowdy guests and it really isn't their fault, so comping a night was a very nice surprise. The rowdy guests in question were later removed from the hotel after receiving complaints from several other patrons. I wish I knew the names of all of the other people who helped with my major emergency so I could give them a shout out here but my brain was focussed on other things at the time. My elderly father had (unknown to us at the time) had a silent heart attack alone in his room. When it became clear that something was wrong, the maintenance staff bypassed the door locks and safety catch to open the room. My poor dad had fallen and couldn't get up. I couldn't lift him by myself, but the maintenance staff was happy to help. They were extremely sensitive to helping my dad maintain as much of his dignity as possible in such a situation. They placed him gently on his bed. As the day wore on, my dad's condition worsened and we ended up needing to take him to the VA hospital across town. For stupid medical industry reasons, we couldn't get an ambulance to cross that distance. I had to drive him myself. The front desk (different clerk) and the maintenance department came to the rescue again! They helped seat my dad into a rolling office chair and gently move him down the hallway, into the elevator, and then into the car. Success!!!!! These kind, generous, helpful people probably saved my dad's life. I would have been helpless without them.
