“Hockey weekend”

Cool location. Many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Check out was on a Monday but we had a hockey game on that Monday. They allowed us to leave car parked at Hotel even though we checked out already. We walked to Stadium down the street. Saved us the parking fee.

I'm reviewing this hotel relative to the category of low cost, budget hotel, not compared to higher end hotels. I booked this hotel with some trepidation, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The exterior is relatively presentable and unspectacular, but once inside the room it was a different story. The paint was nice, the furniture updated, and the amenities, as basic as they were, all functional. The room was acceptably clean, and the beds comfy. The location couldn't be beat for attending an event at the SAP center. Walking to and from was easy peasy, and felt perfectly safe late at night when the event ended. A good night's sleep in a clean room at a great location at low cost. Honestly, what more could you want? I'll definitely be back when I go to an event at the SAP.

“A solid 3 for the category of hotel this is”

Given there was a huge nVidia conference and also March madness exhibition games at the SAP Center, getting any hotel room in San Jose for any reasonable price was a real challenge. Given there was a huge nVidia conference and also March madness exhibition games at the SAP Center, getting any hotel room in San Jose for any reasonable price was a real challenge. This would not normally have been the category hotel for a work trip but after reading the reviews and seeing pictures online which are generally accurate, we took the chance, but this is certainly not a three or four star property. On the plus side the staff were very nice and friendly and housekeeping was efficient each day at remaking the room and checking supplies. Also, the room was renovated, clean, bed comfortable, good hot water, and everything worked. It was generally quiet and not crazy at nights. On the down side, especially if you're used to other kinds of hotels the exterior door with people walking by your window can be disconcerting, there is no in room coffee, only bar soap is provided and no other amenities like shampoo or lotion, the bath towels are frighteningly small and thin and cheap, the pillows are thin old lumpy and a little worriesome, the TV is pretty small and the bright glossy white walls a bit stark with no pictures or anything to break them up. I get this place is what it is.
