The hotel staff were pleasant & accommodating. I interacted with 3 different people over the course of a 1 night stay & they were all helpful. They have onsite parking which is nice especially in that area. It’s a bit pricey but most things are these days. You’d probably want to inquire about parking prior to or use an app like Spot Hero because parking in this area is probably not the best bet. I like that you need to use your room key to get in the building and to use the elevator. We found our room easily but I can see how some people wouldn’t like the way the building is structured, it is a bit of a maze. If you’re looking for a place with a view this is not it. The building faces other buildings on all sides. This is an affordable hotel in the bay area, with clean rooms and comfy beds (I had to ask what brand they were cause I need one lol). There was a heater that worked well but I read that they do not have air conditioning so I probably wouldn’t stay during a heatwave. They do have a roof top pool but it was raining & also December lol. There is a gym, a cafe across the street & they have coffee, croissants/danishes you can grab in the morning. They had plenty of towels in the bathroom, an extra blanket & pillow, robes, coffee/tea/Keurig/water, a TV & a charging doc for your cell phones (which takes usb, or you can wirelessly charge - we had iPhone & Samsung, they both worked. The charging station also had a UV light that sanitizes your phone killing off the bacteria - which I will now be buying for my house lol. My last stay in San Francisco, we paid a similar price for a hotel and the rooms were horrible (read last review). This was like the Ritz compared to that place 😂. Of course, I am over exaggerating but again if you’re wanting a good nights sleep and don’t want to spend an arm & a leg this is a good spot. It is minutes from the Bill Graham Civic Center where concerts are held, took us only 20 minutes to get to the airport (this may differ as we went there at night), Union Square isn’t far & pier 39 was about 15-20 minutes as well. We didn’t stay long enough to see what else is over there. I personally, enjoyed my stay & wouldn’t mind coming back again. Thank you to the staff for their assistance. I had first stayed in an Airbnb, in New York, for two weeks, but it was very far out from where I really wanted to be, so although it was pleasant enough, there wasn't much around to do without taking some sort of transport, to anywhere, I decided to travel to San Francisco, I had lived there, for four years and stayed in a number of residential hotels, away from downtown, I tried to book into one but my payments would go through, I was now tired and desperate, and they were having a heat wave, I managed to find an Irish Pub/Bar, used their WiFi, and booked into the SoMa House, I stayed for maybe more than a week, and it was pleasant enough, didn't ever use the amentias, such as the swimming pool, etc. The breakfast was only buns/croissants, and cereal. There isn't much around the neighbourhood, unless you want to check out the buildings, and transport, the famous cable car, isn't a great distance away.

Having spent two weeks in a Airbnb, in New York. I made a decision to travel to San Francisco, basically on a whim, keep in mind this is October, and both Cities are going through a heatwaves, and I had come with clothes, suitable for cooler weather, When I arrived in San Francisco, I hadn’t booked anywhere to stay, I had lived here for nearly four years, so I am familiar with most areas. I had also stayed in a number of hotels, for, years, in one case and months in others, but not in the center of the City. I had nowhere booked, I ended up in The Irish Times Pub, and after a few beers, I needed to find somewhere to stay, Took out my Laptop, and ended booking here’ I liked this place, but never used the Pool/gym, the rooms decent, but no A/C, the breakfast is a bit of a joke, buns and coffee, there is nothing really in the immediate, area except, the local store at the end of the block, there is quite a bit of construction, going on around, if you can tolerate the constant smell of hash, and this seedy neighbourhood, go for it, they had a falling out with me and asked me leave, don’t know why, but the same management, owns at least two or more hotels right across the road. I stayed in two other Hotels after.
