This hotel is very nice. The accommodation is high quality and reasonably sized. The staff are friendly. The hotel is on the edge of Union Square which is great but going the other way from the hotel is not a good area. Parking is expensive even in nearby self parking options. We checked in early without any issues and extended our check out to 1pm. The $18 Hilton Diamond credit for food/drinks doesn’t go very far in the expensive restaurant/cafe.

“Great, safe stay and helpful staff”

I booked a 1 night stay 4 months in advance. About 2 weeks before the stay, I saw that I could get a AAA package (through Hilton.com) which was cheaper and included free breakfast, so I called and my reservation was updated (and reflected online). When I checked in, the free breakfast had disappeared and it only showed a AAA rate. Many thanks to Ryan M, who checked us in. He acknowledged my Diamond status, fixed the missing breakfast, gave us the premium wifi code, and got us into an open room as the one we reserved hadn’t been cleaned yet (we arrived around noon, so before the 3pm standard checkin time). The room was very comfortable. My only complaints are that when I dialed the operator from the room phone, no one answered (I gave up after around 30 rings). Also, there is no phone for their restaurant (Cable55), so I had to go to the restaurant (actually the bar) to place a takeout order. I’ll note that there were many security features. For the elevators, you had to scan your key at a pad outside the elevators, enter your floor number, and it would then direct you to an ekevator that would go to that floor. Also, in the late evening, to enter the hotel you needed to scan your key and a person was there to ensure it was a valid key. All of these security measures help offset the hotel location near the tenderloin.

Stayed while on tour , and thought the hotel was comfortable . Staff were lovely . The rooms probably do need a bit if an upgrade , and furniture renewed. I could also detect the smell of smoke . Stayed while on tour , and thought the hotel was comfortable . Staff were lovely . The rooms probably do need a bit if an upgrade , and furniture renewed. I could also detect the smell of smoke . The bed was very comfortable , and plenty supplies in towels and toiletries . The area is one to be vigilant of . If you make a wrong turn , you may find yourself surrounded by some fentanyl users and homeless . So to be vigilant around that . The gym was amazing , well equipped and laid out

“Wonderful stay”

A nice hotel in a very good location in San Francisco. Incredibly sweet and helpful front desk employee, Mavis, who helped us with an upgrade from a standard room on the 5th floor to one on the 29th with a Bay view. The view was fabulous. The room interior was not recently upgraded it but worked.... more

A nice hotel in a very good location in San Francisco. Incredibly sweet and helpful front desk employee, Mavis, who helped us with an upgrade from a standard room on the 5th floor to one on the 29th with a Bay view. The view was fabulous. The room interior was not recently upgraded it but worked. (that would have triggered a 5 star review). Incredibly delicious breakfast buffet (not part of our room rate, unfortunately) and rather expensive.

“Family trip 2 nights”

A functional hotel for family of 5 visiting the city. Very few hotels offer rooms for 5. Tired rooms, good views. On the edge of the homeless epidemic in the city whilst close to cable car and main shops. Breakfast was fine as included but not worth $34 per head if not.
