“Great family stay, fantastic location”

After agonizing over all of the hotel choices and locations, we ended up choosing Hotel Zoe at Fisherman’s Wharf for our 5 night family trip (with daughters aged 17 and 20). The size of the room was fine for us, the main downside being no counter space in the bathroom. The hotel was modern in decor and clean. Price was reasonable. Pros: - location. Close to Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach. Easy walk to Ghirardelli Square and Pier 33 as well as Chinatown. CVS nearby. Transportation options in the area. - coffee and tea in lobby area in mornings - Water station - Wifi worked well - Several plug ins to charge devices in the room - Beautiful patio area with twinkle lights, comfortable furniture and fire tables. Blankets also provided. Smores in the evenings. - Spacious lobby with fireplace - In house restaurant Pescatore Trattoria providing great food and drink. - 24 hour front desk. Had contact with staff on each shift and all were friendly and helpful. - Security - felt very safe at hotel. Require room key for elevator. We returned after 11 pm from a show at the theatre and front doors were locked. Let in by bellman with proof of room key. Checked out at 4 am for an early flight and had to be let out by a security guard at front desk. The area of the hotel felt safe, but nice to have hotel security as well. Cons: - no counter space in bathroom - Window faced bus stop. Lots of street noise starting early on weekdays. - small gym - A/C not continuous, on and off - Daily resort fee Hotel Zoe worked well for us in terms of easy walks to the activities we had booked and many restaurants within walking distance, specifically in North Beach and at Pier 39. Due to changes in plans, we ended up needing to take the BART three times so could have chosen a hotel near Union Square to make that easier, however, the transportation system in SF is a well oiled machine and it worked out fine, just took longer from our starting point. We enjoyed staying at Hotel Zoe and would recommend.
