Great funky hotel. Very comfortable room with a very nice bathroom. Helpful, friendly staff. Many thoughtful little touches. Nice little coffee shop connected to the lobby. Room service available from a local pub for a very reasonable price. Comfy bar behind the lobby which is also a great place to drink your morning coffee from the coffee shop. Perfect location close to many restaurants. If we ever come back to San Francisco we will definitely stay again.

This is a very nice hotel, with a great situation near Union Square and the cable cars on Powell street, and quite close to Market street. The rooms are a good size and nicely furnished, equipped with coffee machine and a safe. The hotel has an arrangement where you can borrow all kinds of extra furnishings; for example, the room did not have a refrigerator, but they brought one to our room when we asked for it. There is a very nice cafe attached to the hotel where they make very nice breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. We had a real problem when we arrived at the hotel: We had prepaid the room through an online booking service - but the service had cancelled our reservation without telling us and without refunding us. The hotel could not do anything to recover the money we had lost, but they were very helpful and did all they could to support us - and fortunately we could get a room there to an absolutely reasonable price even without a reservation. Just for info, we have now reported the booking service to the police for fraud.

Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff who will do anything to make sure you have a memorable stay. This isn’t a faceless corporate hotel, but one with an individual personality it celebrates. Location is fantastic and standard of room is excellent. What isn’t there to like (or love!)? Would highly recommend staying here if you are travelling to San Francisco.

I stayed here with friends to attend a concert at The Fillmore. This hotel is very nicely laid out and decorated. The team has made excellent use of what seem to be rooms on the smaller side. The three of us slept so well. We all have bad backs and often experience a sore neck or back after traveling and had none of these issues with The Emblem's beds. We were really impressed. The only reason I gave it 4 Stars instead of 5 was because of the lighting in the bedroom. There were only two lamps in the bedroom, and with multiple people trying to do makeup at the same time we couldn't all use the good lighting in the bathroom. Excellent place for a spot to relax a bit and sleep in SF. Would stay again.
