“Great place!”

Excellent service, especially in the restaurant. We had breakfast everyday and the staff was great! The food was really good, but the service was outstanding. The room was nice, we hope we got a better view next time! Perfect for our trip to San Diego!!!

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The IHG welcome bags were beautifully presented in our rooms. If you are looking for a great experience. Then you have to stay here.

“Nice hotel, just be mindful of the roof top bar and possible noise”

We have stayed at this hotel several times and always enjoy our stay. The rooms are always super clean and nice and the staff very helpful and professional. The location is also really good to walk to the baseball park or gas lamp or even to the marina. We upgraded to a suite, it was a really nice larger room and had a spectacular view of the ball park with floor to ceiling windows. The down side was we were directly above the outdoor bar (Borrego rooftop bar) which I recall is on the 9th floor. And since the bar has a great view of the ballpark it was busy which is great for business and no fault of the bar, but it was very loud way past midnight Friday and Saturday. We appreciate an evening out as well, and pretty sure the patrons were unaware we could hear them, so give them a pass. We had a drink at the Borrego bar Friday night and it was nice (view and fit pits) so Saturday we thought we’d try again. VERY disappointed, the hostess told us to sit at a fire pit is was $75.00 each minimum food and beverage LOL and since all the other seats were taken, we asked about the bar area that was not full. So we sat at a small table and then the hostess came and said, oh that table is reserved. I failed to ask her if it mattered if we were hotel guests. Since the baseball team was at home, I am sure it gets busy. So we left and walked across the street and had a great cocktail for probably half the price. When we returned to our room, since we could actually see the bar, I glanced at the table we sat at and it was not occupied, maybe the reservation were fast drinkers/eaters LOL. We will still stay at this hotel, however, won’t pay the extra for a suite and definitely will request a room not near the bar area.

The front desk staff are super nice and generally really helpful. My room was average despite an “upgrade.” Two nights I had to listen to partygoers. The first night it raged until 3 am. The second night I called the front desk to complain. It took two phone calls to resolve the issue. The restaurant in the lobby is okay too. The food is expensive and not consistent in content nor quality. The service isn’t the best either. If it weren’t for the location and being an IHG member, I wouldn’t stay here.
