Just got home from a family weekend in which several of us booked at this hotel. I am a Hilton honors member so I did get a discount on my room. I also was told via Hilton.com directly after booking that NO DEPOSIT was required because I am an honors member in whichI found out when I got to the hotel that they actually did hold $99.00 -$100 deposit. It was fine in the end but I wanted to make a point to make other members aware. Check in was a smooth process very nice front desk staff. I was on a nice floor, everyone is right carpet is extremely outdated and it does smell, I’m sure they are doing everything they can to minimize that because it smelled amazing in the hotel lobby and throughout the hallways but inside the rooms ( in which I went in all of my other family members rooms to check). I planned ahead and brought my own Febreeze and just sprayed the room down. The balcony is actually a very decent size, contrary to other reviews I was able to leave a chair outside and enjoy, now the only reason I booked this hotel is because of the balcony as I am a smoker and sure enough no smoking allowed on balconies. They do have a designated smoking area 20 feet from the entrance in a enclosed parking space right in front of the hotel with two chairs an umbrella and ashtray, I met alot of great people out there it was nice. Shower pressure is amazing in the room, great tea tree products for use. Nice pool, with a fire pit, located next to the mall and some great eateries and stores. Rooms however are not soundproof I could hear the family next to me all weekend word for word, my mom who was also staying on the 5th floor room 501 was an elevator room and she did say she heard it all night and it sounded like a train. Beds are comfy and rooms are spacious especially their family suites. All in all great hotel, just needs some minor fixes.

This was my first time at this hotel — I had a very nice girl, Abby, at the reception desk check me in — she asked if I would like to spend an additional $20.00 per night to have a room with a balcony. I said yes. When I saw my room, I literally started laughing when I saw the balcony — not even big enough to put a chair out there and only one person could even comfortably stand out there - not to mention, it’s just plain ugly (see photo). The bed was definitely comfortable enough but the comforter on the bed seemed to have a lot of lumps in it — luckily the mattress was fine. My sister and brother-in-law arrived later that day - I met them at check-in and they, too, were offered a room with a balcony for an additional $20 per day. They agreed. When they got to their room, however, this sign was on their balcony door (see photo) — Additionally, when we knew that our cousin had probably arrived at the hotel, my sister asked the hotel operator, or whoever answered the phone if they would connect her to his room - she used his name. She was asked, ‘What room is he in?’ She replied that she didn’t know yet what room he was in but she had his name. The operator refused to connect her to his room without knowing the room number. She then asked that person if she (the operator) would then please call him and tell him to call her — the operator refused to do that as well. My sister wrote about this when the hotel sent a “we hope you’re having a nice stay” email. I will give them credit, however — when we checked out, after mentioning the sign that shut them out of their balcony, they were told they wouldn’t be charged. And, later that day, they did get an actual phone call from the hotel apologizing for the operator’s exchange about our cousin with the promise to look into the situation. With so many hotel options, I hope they get some of that stuff straightened out as we all, cousin included, probably won’t be back.

“Comfortable stay”

The rooms at the Doubletree are comfortable. Bathrooms are decent but towels and linens in bathroom not stocked. So also tea and sugar wasn't refilled. The rooms at the Doubletree are comfortable. Bathrooms are decent but towels and linens in bathroom not stocked. So also tea and sugar wasn't refilled. We were a family of 4 but cups provided were less we had to call for 2 more. My 2 caps went missing from the room, so please be careful of ur belongings. The reception desk is polite and efficient. We had a quick check in. All in all a good stay.
