Stayed for a soccer tournament. Hidden hotel. You would never guess that there would be one behind a strip mall. However, this hotel was safe and clean. Stayed for a soccer tournament. Hidden hotel. You would never guess that there would be one behind a strip mall. However, this hotel was safe and clean. Complimentary breakfast was good, but dining area was small. Luckily, there was patio dining. We made use of the self-service laundry rooms which was helpful to wash soccer uniforms. Front desk was friendly.

What a gem ! Beautiful property with big rooms, good breakfast, pool, outdoor seating, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and nicely decorated I was so surprised it was so reasonably priced. Close proximity to the beach (free trolley from the outlets), restaurants, the outlets, Casa Romantica. I highly recommend a stay if you're in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel as it was my first time staying at a Holiday Express Inn, normally preferring a four star hotel and above. We were visiting Southern California from Australia and my partner was keen to check out San Clemente and the surf area of Trestles Beach. When we arrived there was plenty of free parking and loved the 'hacienda' vibe of the building. Our initial room was on the third floor, however, it was near the freeway end of the hotel and we could hear the noise from the traffic whilst standing in the corridor. Luckily our room keys didn't work so we went back down to reception to request a room change away from the freeway, which they were able to accommodate. Overall the room room was clean, had a modern feel and provided a fridge and coffee maker, and a small balcony which was nice to be able to open for fresh air. The hotel has a small pool which did look inviting and would have used if we had stayed a bit longer. My partner utilised the free breakfast in the morning which provided a basic mix of hot and cold options (tea, coffee, toast, cereals, pancakes, eggs, bacon etc). We would happily book a return short stay at this hotel if we ever returned to San Clemente (in a room away from the freeway!).

Everything was okay. Kids had fun in the pool, snacks super expensive, breakfast is advertised to start at 6:30am but starts at 7am. Welcoming Staff was nice but evening staff were bothered we asked for more towels, stated “he was the only one so we have to come downstairs for them”. I understand, … more
Everything was okay. Kids had fun in the pool, snacks super expensive, breakfast is advertised to start at 6:30am but starts at 7am. Welcoming Staff was nice but evening staff were bothered we asked for more towels, stated “he was the only one so we have to come downstairs for them”. I understand, just came off rude and frustrated. This was also Sunday to Monday and there were hardly any people. Stayed here 3 nights/4 days. Daughter had soccer tournament near by, really wished breakfast indeed started at 6:30am like advertised online. We missed breakfast due to early games.
