I just want to comment on what a wonderful stay I had over Labor Day Weekend (2024). The room was comfortable and so historical and unique. The Hotel itself is just beautiful. I love that I could easily walk to the busier parts of The River Walk and still return to this quieter area. I had one of the best breakasts at Ocho and wonderful cocktails in the bar. The young man that worked the front desk all weekend was so polite and helpful! Actually, all staff I interacted with were just as friendly, from the restaurant to the bar. I recommend this place to anyone that might be going to San Antonio. I had the best experience.

“Loved our Stay”

We were in San Antonio for the Donny Osmond show at the Tobin Center, which is literally right by the hotel. We got to the hotel a bit before check in time and the young man working at the desk was so amazing. Our room wasn’t quite ready, but he found another room that was and got us checked in early. And I’m not sure what our original king room was like, but the one he gave us was amazing, on the 3rd floor with an outdoor balcony right outside our door ! We actually visited the bar in the basement ( DO NOT MISS THE BAR) when we got back to the hotel after the show and took our drinks up to the balcony and sat and enjoyed the quietness of the area and enjoyed looking at the San Antonio downtown skyline… very peaceful and relaxing! The room itself was amazing… I love anything with history and this hotel and the rooms are just the perfect touch of old & new… original wood floors, good size, comfortable beds… and OMG, I loved the linen cover on the bed so much I took a picture of the tag and came home and ordered one just like it!! The bathroom was perfect for our stay, and there is a full size refrigerator in the room… granted there are items in the fridge to buy, but we still had plenty of room for our waters and a small charcuterie we brought from home. The hotel smells amazing and I asked what the smell was and it is actually an incense made for them that you can buy in the lobby, which of course I stocked up on!!! The staff are absolutely top notch and you can tell they are happy employees… when we checked in we told them we were concerned that our truck was kinda large for the parking lot and was sticking out some ( because the parking area is fairly narrow & small) and the young man told us no worries, and he told us to pull over to an area right next to the hotel that they use for handicapp parking and extra large vehicles … literally right at the door !! And I’m not sure where others heard noise, but our room faced Navarro St. and we never heard the traffic or any noise whatsoever… it was extremely quiet as you would think it would be because it is on the quieter end of the Riverwalk. I cannot wait to come back to stay at this wonderful, historically old beautiful hotel! Thank you Hotel Havana for a memorable stay that I get to relive at home with the incense burning and sleeping under the same type coverlet!!!

Hotel Havana is very charming. Bed was very comfortable, towels were soft, and the overall atmosphere was romantic. The restaurant Ocho on the property served OUTSTANDING Cuban fare. Service was professional, courteous, and efficient. We enjoyed one of the 2nd floor balconies and the restaurant sent drinks up for us. I would stay here again.

“Wish this were in my city!!”

At the last minute, I had a change of plans and stumbled across this gem. I was on business for four nights and would have gladly stayed much longer. You might see some reviews that ding this hotel for noise, but that was not my experience. I've stayed at business hotels with greater noise. Hotel Havana is an old building with some design eccentricity AND THAT'S GREAT. I'm soooo tired of every hotel trying to fit predetermined rubric for its class, brand or market. Hotel Havana was comfortable, thoughtfully designed and staffed with kind people who clearly cared about their work, but weren't putting on fake "customer service" vibes. My first two nights were in a queen studio on my own. My final two nights were in a larger king suite where my husband joined me. We both loved it.
