Stayed here for a quick weekend in the St Louis area. The hotel is walking distance to the Arch and to Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen. I had booked the hotel online and requested in the Comments that I preferred a room overlooking the Arch. The team honored my request! Although we had inadvertently taken the wrong elevator down to the breakfast area in the lower level, there were helpful staff that pointed us into the right location. The breakfast team was so lovely and helpful. Southern hospitality is alive in this locale! I will stay here next time I am in the STL.

We stayed here on 7/25 to 7/27/24 in room 911 and thought it was a very nice hotel. The hotel is easy to find, about a .5 mile walk to the Arch (down 4th St) and there are 3 or 4 restaurants within a .5 mile walk. The exterior was clean and maintained as was the lobby. The front desk (check in and out) were friendly and helpful (esp. Brittany). There are three elevators and they require you to use your keycard to activate them. The doors close pretty quickly. There is onsite parking ($30/day) both outside and in a parking garage. Your keycard gets you through the gate (in and out) to the parking area. If you are parking in the garage, you pull up to the large black doors which open automatically. The garage is the 2nd floor stop on the elevator. Breakfast was very good and the women running it did a great job keeping things stocked and the tables clean. Breakfast is on the LL level and can be reached by the elevator or the stairs. There was no daily housekeeping during our 2 day stay (which I miss), but extra towels and trash removal is provided as needed. If you are doing a multiday stay check with the hotel for their housekeeping policy. Room 911 was good sized, clean, reasonably quiet and the beds were comfortable. There is no Arch view from this room (you see a casino, roof and highway). The bathroom was good sized and had lots of counter space. The water pressure was good. The room had a fridge (no freezer), coffee pot and decent internet. There is a clock which I appreciate. We would recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Arch and would stay here again.

“Once you conquer getting into the parking garage, the rest is easy.”

Even if you have e-checked in, you can’t get into the parking garage without stopping at the front desk. Parking in front to do that is very confusing. Even if you have e-checked in, you can’t get into the parking garage without stopping at the front desk. Parking in front to do that is very confusing. Coming off of I-44 pull into the overhang of the hotel rather than driving around to the parking entrance. We did not get our complimentary water but I asked and was given them the second day. The hotel itself is convenient to the Arch and Busch stadium so that is a bonus. Breakfast was very crowded but it was Saturday and the Cardinals were in town so maybe that was the reason. We went somewhere else so what benefit is there to staying at Hampton Inn if you can’t enjoy the free breakfast.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. The location is ok depending on what you’re there for. It’s close to the convention center, MetroLink stop, and walking distance to the Arch and some of the other sights by the river. It was useful, since I didn’t have a car, to be able to get to a number of places either by trolley or by foot. There isn’t a lot to do immediately next to the hotel with the highway on one side and the area a little downtrodden, once you get a couple blocks away there are more signs of life. I never felt unsafe in the area, but it’s not bustling. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. The woman who checked me in at the front desk (sorry I don’t remember her name) was very nice and helpful. I guess because of my Hilton status she assembled a snack bag with a soda, water, and several types of snacks – that was very sweet. She then gave me some pointers as it was already 6pm, so she said I should find something to eat soon as places near the hotel will close around 8 and proceeded to give me a few recommendations. While I had booked a non-arch view room with a king bed, I ended up with an arch view room with two beds – I figured I wouldn’t complain about the bed change with such a nice view!! The hotel was fine, it was clean and relatively comfortable - it just was starting to show its age. The bathroom and especially shower could use an update. I did love that the bathroom had a nightlight – something I wish more hotels had. The USB charging ports next to the bed were broken. Some of the pillows looked a bit yellowed, old, and worn. The carpet tiles were coming up in a few places in the corners. I hope it’s up for a refresh in the coming years as it could use it. Breakfast is included and it’s mediocre. Eggs, sausages, toast, muffins, make your own waffles – standard fare. The first morning I went down and it was crowded, and they were trying to keep up, the second morning it was almost empty. The staff downstairs were also very nice – everyone was good to deal with. Unfortunately, the only provide housekeeping every other day – wish they were back to doing it daily. Overall fine hotel – nice staff – I’d consider staying here again if it’s refreshed.
