“Very Nice Stay (but be ready for the party)”

First impression: neat, clean, and well-kept inside and out. Amanda greeted us at the front desk and was very personable and helpful. We originally checked in on the app but arrived early (and tired) and wanted to check in if possible. Amanda checked us in immediately (more than 1 hour early.) Smoothest assisted check-in ever. Upon check-in, she mentioned that we were in the “quiet” area of the hotel (hint #1.) Our room was pristine and we were greeted by a personalized message on the TV. Complimentary earplugs were provided, which we found to be a nice but unusual touch (hint #2 for the day.) We walked to a local restaurant for dinner and felt a sense that a party was about to begin in the area. On the walk back to the hotel, the party seemed about to begin - the sidewalks were peopled and bands were doing sound checks. On arrival back at the hotel, we stopped by the small but well-stocked hotel store. There were drinks, snacks, and candy along with common medicines (Advil, etc.) and toiletries. My wife purchased Advil and we mentioned to Amanda that it had been a long day, as we had boarded the train (Amtrak) to town in the wee small hours of the morning. Amanda offered us a complimentary sound machine (hint #3) which we found to be a very nice but, again, unusual hotel offering. Putting two and two (or three and three) together (“quiet area,” earplugs, sound machine,) we inquired about the hotel’s unusual vigilance against noise pollution. Amanda explained that the hotel had been on this property for about 12 year but that approximately 40 bars had sprung up around in the past couple years. She said that we could count on the party (and noise) getting started at about 8 p.m. and continuing until the police broke it up around 2 a.m. My wife and I were a bit concerned, as we are both light sleepers. By bedtime, the party outside had started strong. We closed the blackout curtains (which are surprisingly noise reducing,) cranked up the sound machine, and melted into the very comfortable bed. We were only awakened twice - once by the short police siren announcing “party’s over” and once by an obnoxiously loud motorcycle. Compared to many other hotel stays I’ve had, this was one of the best hotel sleeps I have ever had. Breakfast was nice the next morning: waffles, omelets, sausage, potatoes, cereal, and pastries. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay here again for sure.

“Fabulous!!”

My recent experience @ the Hampton Inn Downtown Raleigh was amazing. The STAFF was very friendly & helpful, a nice clean room, good breakfast, great gym/pool and very convenient location to local attractions. Very Much appreciated. MIKE

I took a class at NCState and stayed here. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. There was some noise that came in from the outside but I was able to get used to it pretty quickly. I took a class at NCState and stayed here. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. There was some noise that came in from the outside but I was able to get used to it pretty quickly. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The gym had minimal weights but you could get a decent work out in. The peloton bike did not work. I would stay here again when I am in town.
