When I first pulled up to this hotel, I almost decided to change immediately. Forgive me, I should explain simply that the outside of the hotel is a little dated, and sometimes initial impressions can be quite strong. But I was wrong on many levels. The staff were excellent, reception in particular were very helpful whenever I had a query. The lobby has a small 24 hour shop, a large area for seating and a bar and of course the restaurant. My room on the ninth floor, was spacious, had a very comfortable bed and a good view. Internet was sufficiently fast for work, and the bathroom was clean and whilst not extremely modern, the shower provided more than adequate pressure. From this hotel, you are within rapid walking distance of the convention centre, a major transport interchange, a Safeway supermarket, a 7-Eleven, various small local establishments, and of course multiple means of transport to get into town over the bridge. I stayed here for five nights, and took advantage of breakfast on every day, so a special shout out to the breakfast team and above all to Ivan who always greeted us with a smile. It’s the little things and the staff interactions that make all the difference when you travel a lot. The surrounding neighbourhood can be a little challenging at times, but in general I found it to be extremely quiet, with minimum interruptions and I felt largely safe. I certainly would return here if I had business again in Portland

Went to watch the Warriors play the blazers. Stayed the night. Want to shout out for Michelle who just simply took care of us before and after the game on a really busy night!! Thank you Michelle I hope all your bosses know what a star they have in you! Know that I have been in this business for 30 years and rarely see the special service that we got. Took us back to a great table that she said she could help us bettter cause she saw how tired we were from walking all over the place! Uber for two blocks would have been $55! Yikes hoof it and stay at the Crown! You’ll be happy! Take a swim and eat brunch buffet but say hi to Michelle!

The hotel is a short walk from the Convention Center and the Convention Center MAX station once one knows the way. When traveling from the airport MAX station to the Convention Center MAX station, go to the back of the light rail train and head left up NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd for three blocks to NE Wasco St. Take a left for two blocks and then a right on NE 2nd Ave. for two blocks to the hotel. The room I was in was fine. The rooms have a microwave and mini-fridge. I had a top floor room facing north, so I could see Mount St. Helens when the sky was clear. The exercise room has equipment including free weights. There is a Safeway store by the Lloyd Center, not too far away, to purchase groceries. There are two things not listed on the hotel's website; bicycles (4) and laundry facility (1). The bicycles are nothing great (one speed, coaster brake), except for being free for two hours per day. Unfortunately the bikes were not available until 9:30-10:00 in the morning. It's a bit laughable that the hotel will start charging $25 per hour for use of the bikes beyond two hours per day; it would be better to pay for a rental of a better bike elsewhere if one wants to ride for more than two hours. The laundry facility on the top floor has two washing machines and four dryers. One washing machine wasn't working during my stay, causing bottlenecks for people wanting to do laundry. Flexible terms for IHG One Rewards members for late checkout (up to two hours) and luggage storage for a few hours.

“Two nights”

The room was clean and the bed was comfy. When getting a room, try for facing away from the highway — it is noisy all night.. The rest of the hotel is well worn. It is time for a serious remodel. The location was convenient. At a reduced rate, I would stay again.
