Nasir is the first employee we met walking into the hotel. I had a few questions later and he was there to answer all of them, with a smile! We were missing soap in our room and he contacted housekeeping. Later he followed up to make sure we had our soap (we did). I was in the lobby for a bit waiting for my son to finish a call for school and saw him helping out multiple guests in various capacities (just like he helped my family) - always with a smile. It’s just obvious he really likes his job and is really good at it! Great service!

This hotel is phenomenal! We are Marriott bonvoy members , and also work for Marriott.. When I tell you immediately upon arrival we were handled so gracefully and with immediate care, it was unreal ! Joe was my main man ! He was very pleasant and about action. checked us in quickly and with purpose, also updated our room to a double bed because we had forgotten to do so online.. plus added some extra amenities. If this hotel wasn’t luxury you could’ve fooled me because he certainly made it feel as though we were walking on clouds of gold. We were on the 11th floor and the view from our room was breathtaking. Everything was so beautiful and inviting. Very prestine and peaceful. Location was EVERYTHING. Walking distance to some of the most historic sights in Philly and also tons of place to dine. Everything from bars, to a Walgreens, to movie theaters etc etc was in the area and within walking distance. Our last day we had lunch with Lizzie ! Special thank you to her for taking such good care of us ! The food was wonderful ! I had a Cobb salmon salad. Presentation was beautiful and the food was even better ! THANK YOU LIZZIE AND JOE FOR MAKING OUR EXPERIENCE IN PHILLY A PLACE AWAY FROM HOME. It was hard to come back to Phoenix without missing you all ! We will certainly stay here every time we visit. I typically refrain from writing a review on a stay until after check-out (if at all), but I’ve been so blown away by my stay thus far that I simply cannot wait another two days before sharing my experience. To start, the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown was not my first choice for this trip, nor was it my second. If I had been traveling alone (as I often do), I would have stayed at either the Rittenhouse or Four Seasons, but as I am subsidizing my sister’s family on this trip, I couldn’t justify spending close to $10k for two rooms for four nights in Philadelphia, so I reluctantly booked the Renaissance at about 1/3 of the cost. I figured it would be a typical Marriott stay—not spectacular, but not awful, and overall, nothing to write home about. I was wrong. I’m now two nights into my stay and I’ve already written home—tonight, to colleagues, telling them that if they or their clients ever find themselves in need of a hotel in Philadelphia, they should look no further than the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown. Our stay thus far has been nothing short of wonderful. We were greeted warmly by Joe upon arrival and he has continued to check in on us and treat us so kindly throughout our stay; tonight, he gave us a bag of ice cream treats and his colleague presented me with a free drink coupon for my approaching birthday—I did not note my birthday on my reservation, so I assume they noticed it on my Bonvoy account. Speaking of Bonvoy, I’m only a silver member—far from a VIP as far as Marriott is concerned, but I’ve certainly been treated like a VIP during this stay. Given my lack of higher status, I have to believe that Joe and his colleagues at the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown treat everyone this well, which is super impressive. The hotel itself is well-decorated and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. The decor is a bit eclectic—not an exact match for my more traditional design aesthetic, but I appreciate the risks that were taken to give the rooms a more “local” feel (in keeping with the Renaissance brand). The location is hard to beat—mere steps from the Liberty Bell and Constitution Hall, less than 0.25 miles from the National Constitution Center, and less than a mile from Reading Terminal Market. All said, this particular hotel might not have been my first or second choice for my first visit to Philadelphia, but thanks to Joe and the rest of the team here at the Renaissance, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else on subsequent visits. If you are considering this hotel for your stay, I highly recommend booking it and experiencing it for yourself

“Close to everything”

Stayed 3 nights to ride bikes along the river and to see all Philly has to offer. This hotel is within walking distance to almost all the historic sites. Our room was spacious, bed comfortable and shower was good too. We didn’t eat in the hotel mainly because we were out all day adventuring and found other places in our travels to dine. Only really encountered a few staff members but they were all friendly and helpful. They messed up our bill upon check out, but they corrected it before we left. It is way too expensive to valet park so we parked right around the corner in the public garage for about $32/day….way better than the valet cost. I would stay here again if I came back to see those sites.
