The hotel was clean, and staff very friendly. But it is an older building. For the price it could use some updates, but all in all it was nice. I wish room service was open longer than 10pm. Some nights you want a late night snack. Only one of the two outdoor pools were open, and the one that was didn't seem to be heated- the one day it was warm enough to use, it was clean and enjoyable. The indoor pool was enjoyable and clean. I found it odd that our room a/c thermostat didn't go lower than 68. Every hotel I've ever been in, we keep the a/c very low. I was actually hot most nights due to not being able to turn it lower. That's unacceptable since there's no fans in the room. I guess you have to request clean sheets when they clean your room? Because they simply made our bed with the current sheets. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good and the staff was extremely friendly and nice. We had no reason to go elsewhere all week for breakfast. Very easy to check in and out, and tons of parking. Great oceanfront view from the balcony! Comfy and sturdy balcony chairs. They have room for improvement, but I would recommend.

When you book a hotel room in Ocean City between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you can count on two things: Astronomical rates and a guest experience below what you’d expect elsewhere for those prices. The Doubletree has both. But if you accept the reality that this is the new normal for all OC hotels during the busy season, you could certainly do worse than the Doubletree. The good: The rooms and common areas are clean and generally well-maintained. This isn’t an easy accomplishment with the combination of sand, salt air, and a seasonal housekeeping staff. The beachfront location is hard to beat. There are also nice pools with plenty of chairs as well as a spacious picnic area. The staff is friendly and helpful. Unlike a lot of the newer hotels, the walls are not paper-thin and there are no connecting rooms. It’s not loud. Needs Improvement: The room’s thermostats are locked at 68 degrees and the AC units are very loud, turning off and on throughout the night. With the high humidity of ocean air, the system is not up to the job. (For us, this was the one dealbreaker that would keep us from returning. Your tolerance for it may be higher). Housekeeping is hit or miss: One of our days they came, one day they just forgot. Service at the restaurant is slow and inattentive. Some of the electrical outlets in our room did not work. The property looks dated, and several minor things need maintenance. Bottom Line: If you want to pay dearly for a beachfront hotel in peak season, the Doubletree is a decent choice. It’s family-friendly, clean, and the location is hard to beat. Don’t expect the experience you’d get at an urban Hilton for the same premium rates, and you won’t be disappointed.

Double Tree at Ocean City has been our favorite hotel for years. A little disappointed this year. Deferred maintenance was noted and the lounge chairs at the pool were in terrible condition. The staff was fantastic as always, as well as the bar and restaurant staff. Top notch! The food in Marlin Moon is always superior. Hoping next year the maintenance issues have been addressed and the lounge chairs at the pool are of better quality.

“Need More Safety Features for Guests”

Many nice things about this hotel. Clean, friendly staff, beachfront, etc. But I must mention that I was very surprised that there was no handrail in the shower and tub surface was super slippery. Many nice things about this hotel. Clean, friendly staff, beachfront, etc. But I must mention that I was very surprised that there was no handrail in the shower and tub surface was super slippery. Very dangerous for most people. Also, disappointed in lack of interior signs for Exit door to Garage - we just had to take a guess and open it. I believe the more well-marked exit routes the better in case of emergency. Does Maryland law allow this stuff? Also, bring your own hairdryer.

The staff was very friendly & the location was great but I would rate this Hotel a 3+. The outdoor pool area was small and the access door to beach was broke so we had to lug our beach chairs, umbrella and coolers thru the coffee shop each day .The outdoor pool entrance door was also not working properly & below was a mud Pitt to walk thru to get to the beach. gym windows which overlook the indoor pool were filthy. We have stayed at many Hiltons but this was not worth the money.
