“Everything You'd Want”

So here's the thing, Turtle Bay has everything you'd want in a beach resort. On the western side of the hotel is a gorgeous pristine, rocky beach. Always dramatic; sometimes wild surf, sometimes calm surf—always perfect for wave watching or enrolling in the surf school. The eastern side of the property has Kailua Cove, a protected bay for beginner’s snorkeling or professional sunbathing. A bit past that you’ll find serene, seldom crowded sandy beaches and some great hikes / walks. Also on Kailua Cove is The Beach House restaurant by Roy Yamaguchi. Not part of the hotel proper, but you can charge to your room. Food and service is excellent. I mean really excellent. The pool area of the resort has three areas, an adults only deck with a hot tub, and pool. A children’s splash and play pool, and a family lounge pool. The bar at the pool has a simple but varied menu and solid service. The food at the hotel is good, wonderful service, nice menu selections and kudos to the Ritz for using local farm to table when possible. When you need a break from resort meals, a wonderful food truck “village” is just an eight minute drive east to Kahuku, and old town Haleʻiwa restaurants are about 20 minutes west. There are several building choices, the three wings of the hotel proper (the absolute best views) and the bungalows with larger, elegant spaces, but some views are partiality limited by foliage. Regardless, you just can’t go wrong with the views and ocean breeze. If your doctor prescribes fresh air and calm, this is it, go heal and rejuvenate. Check-in was friendly and certainly establishes the mood du jour of the Aloha spirit. The hotel itself has been through oh so many owners over the decades, currently a Ritz / Marriott. The good news is that much of the staff is the same as before, and you can earn Marriott points to use on a return visit. The bad news is that it now has the Ritz brand mark-up. (Pretty silly rant follows, but actually heard several other guest comment on it as well, so I guess it matters.) The saddest part of the new ownership is the replacement of the logo wear with the Ritz crown... the stand-alone Turtle Bay logo was iconic, fun to wear and to display. The Ritz logo is kind of like the Hard Rock logo - been there / done that clothing. Turtle Bay Ritz Carlton is near perfection, I sure hope their development plans don’t ruin it, it really is one-of-a-kind paradise with wonderful hospitality, there just aren’t many places like this on earth; appreciate while you can. This was my third stay and their will be a fourth... fifth... sixth...

Location is amazing. Great walking trails… amazing views from the rooms. Was a little surprised no turn down service - this is something I would expect at a property like this. “10000% Yes! Yes! Yes!”

BEAUTIFUL! PEACEFUL! Simply amazing!!! I've never been so peaceful in all my days. Now, it is very expensive... But if you had the experience me and my family had it was TOTALLY worth it.
