Staff were accommodating and welcoming. Had a relaxing ambiance. Every morning staff will ask you if you need anything and no need to call them. Mahalo Alohalani and for sure will be back to stay in your hotel.

“Family vacation”

Good location - right on Waikiki Beach. Many restaurants close by. Big hotel. Nice Italian in-house restaurant. The downside was the waiting-time for elevators (too few elevators considering the number of rooms/floors), and also that the room had a funny smell.

In the course of moving from Germany to Oahu, we were there for four weeks … long enough to become very familiar with it. Their oceanfront rooms are perfect for watching all the surfers!! If it weren’t for the nightly gospel guitarist on the beach across the street (out of the resorts control!) it would also have been ideal evening beach/sunset watching!! Unfortunately had to keep patio door closed every night to avoid his gospel tunes (seems he only knows 5 or 6 so repeats over and over!!) The absolute best dining experience is inside this resort (Morimotos!!! OMG!!). The rooftop pool/bar/restaurant has mediocre food, but you can’t beat the ambiance!! Great views, breezes, and if it’s within your budget they have cabanas that I believe cost $300/hour! Could be for the whole day… I didn’t ask because either way it was outside of my budget:) There is no service elevator so you will often endure long waits and will become familiar with the housekeeping and maintenance crews:)…who BTW are ALL very likable and go out of their way to not inconvenience hotel guests. In fact, aside from the “ALWAYS grouchy” elderly lady working the front desk, every single employee we encountered over our 4-week stay was delightful!!! I’m reluctant to be totally honest because I know it may sound like I’m just one of those people who find fault with everything, but you can read any of my many reviews to see that’s not true. I actually LOVE complimenting great hotels/restaurants…. but because establishment is on the pricier side (unless you are there on some special offer) I think potential guests should know what to expect. It is not what I would consider a five-star facility, contrary to its reputation!!The printer’s in the business center is usually broken with no one around to fix it, the carpeting throughout is filthy (I know that’s a difficult task being across from any beach community… so replace the dirty carpet with something that’s easier to keep somewhat clean), and you don’t want me to describe what it looks like happened on all the cushion covers at the pool!!! I understand some guests are thoughtless and leave messes, but they were so filthy for over a week that no guests wanted to use them. Overall, it was fine…. But I’ve been in other similarly priced Waikiki hotels where the amenities/service/food/cleanliness warrant the price! I would choose one of those next time:(
