Great location, busy hotel and the additional charges daily add up and detract from the experience. Convenience to Waikiki great but lift wait times can get tedious and at times it felt like a cruise ship only nothing is included. Rooms are okay, bathroom was not great and very small and tight with toilet in there as well. Pool is nice and lounge are great don't pay for cabana or lou ge as it's a rip off.

Stayed here over Christmas. I'll start with the good. The location is excellent, the staff are friendly, decent food options in the hotel but everything you can think of within walking distance. The lobby and aquarium and pool are very nice and the hotel gym is amazing for a hotel. I would also like to give a shout out to guest services manager Noah, he was very friendly and dealt with our false smoking alarm incident promptly. Now for the bad, which other reviews have stated that the rooms aren't up to standard of a 5 star hotel. Thin walls and doors so you hear everything around you, one of the smallest bathrooms I've ever seen and the in room amenities like bedding, pillows, towers and bath products are what you'd expect at a road side motel. A major problem with this hotel is they have "smart" smoke detectors that go off when they detect cigarette smoke or vaping which then bills your room a $500 charge. Ours went off while we weren't even in the room. We came back and were eating when security knocked on our door and handed me a paper saying that we received a $500 charge for smoking and then wanted to come into the room to look for signs of smoking. During this time my girlfriend was half naked and they still came in and searched the room and treated us like we were some criminals. We both have never smoked in our lives and went to the front desk to deal with the issue and Noah was able to remove the charge on the account and when talking with other staff they said that the smoke detector is garbage and goes off when people use the in room coffee machine. The housekeeping would always understock the room and we had to call daily to get things like towels and toilet paper delivered. On the first day you could tell the room wasn't cleaned properly as there was a lot of hair still in the shower and when I woke up after the first night I noticed the bedding had dried blood on it. I called housekeeping and informed them about this and they said they would change the sheets. When I came back that night I saw that they made the bed but did not change the sheets as there was still blood on them. Then for our checkout day we were given a 12PM checkout. We had the do not disturb sign on our door and at 1030 the maid knocked on our door to tell us to check out at 11. I told her we were given until 12 and will be out by that time. She then knocked again at 11 and I repeated to her again that we had until 12 then she knocked again at 1130 which I told har again we had until 12. At 1150 she decided to just come into the room and said that 1150 is close enough to 12 and it's time for us to go. I told her no, we're almost ready to leave and will be out at 12. There's to many great options on Waikiki beach for a similar price and cheaper that I would not stay here again. For the price you'd expect better amenities and a higher level of service from the housekeeping and security.
