Location: the closest hotel to EWR, but I don’t think you can walk to EWR because there’s a huge parking lot separating the 2 buildings. Plus, there’s a shuttle anyway. There’s even a monitor displaying the arriving and departing flights with gate and terminal info, just like the ones at the airport. Room: standard hotel room. Clean. Soundproof. Can’t hear the planes taking off or landing. Nice airport view! Staff: the front desk team was pretty awesome despite it being a busy afternoon. Only interaction we had aside from the shuttle driver. Shuttle: Marriott has its own fleet of shuttles for Marriott guests only. The shuttle is in good condition, with ample space for luggage. There’s even a shuttle tracker monitor which tells you how far the shuttle is. According to the front desk they come every 15 minutes. We never verified that. Only one nitpicky thing: the driver made it feel like he was doing us a favor instead of providing a service touted by the hotel. When we first tried to get on board, he said his shuttle was dedicated to terminal A dropoff (huh?), which is where the couple already inside was getting dropped off. He said we just missed the shuttle for terminal B. To help understand our confusion, there was nothing on the shuttle indicating it was a shuttle dedicated solely for terminal A passengers. When 3 other groups got on after us, the driver didn’t even ask them what terminal they need to be dropped off at. When he dropped off some of the passengers at terminal A, he did so at the drop off area. He dropped us off at arrival, on the outer road (despite no traffic at the inner road as it was not even 7 in the morning). It was not a long walk at all, but it does sure feel like we were treated a little differently. We tipped him anyway.

We were flying to Myrtle Beach,🏖️ South Carolina. Our very early flight was met by lackluster service at the Spirit counter. Few directions where to go or what to do. The wheelchair service on the other hand was exceptional. They brought me directly to the gate without too much delay at TSA even though we were preauthorized for commercial destinations.
