The tallest hotel in North American is exceptional in every way. After a long day of travel we were greeted warmly by Flavia at the front desk. Flavia told us that she was going to upgrade our room. The upgrade was on the 64th floor of the 65 story tower. Floor to ceiling windows with the bed facing the view. The view was spectacular, better than any viewing platform that you'd pay to access. The east side and the East River, Times Square and the Hudson River. The room was well maintained and very comfortable. I've read reviews that have mentioned tired and outdated room decor at this hotel. We found the room to be fresh, with an attractive design. So much for our taste. We've been in brand new Hyatt hotels that have felt generic and sterile (see review of our recent stay at Hyatt Centric Times Square.) Marriott hotel brands are unique and attractive, their employees well trained in guest courtesy and service. This is why we are loyal to Marriott. We decided to request late check out and Flavia was again at the front desk. She remembered us, asked if we liked the room and arranged for our check out at 2pm. So glad that we could thank Flavia again for her thoughtfulness. Our room attendant, Farida, is another Marriott employee who we would like to acknowledge for making our stay memorable. On leaving our room the first morning, Farida greeted us and asked if she could make up our room. It was a nice way to start our day. On return, we found a note from Farida, "have a nice stay guys." Another representative of the hotel who went above and beyond. We've been to New York many times. Our most memorable visits have been ones where our accommodation was at Marriott branded hotels. We highly recommend the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park for its location, the accommodations and services included in the room rate, and most importantly for the employees who greet you warmly on arrival, wish a good day, and who put a priority in making you feel like a valued guest.

“Great city views.”

The views of my room 4207 were stunning with the cityscape. Staff extremely efficient and polite. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that the shower enclosure is leaking water when person is showering creating a slipping hazard. “Decent If You Can Get the Right Price”

We booked this hotel on Marriott points. It is 3 star and although it says it is Central Park, it is really more like midtown. We booked this hotel on Marriott points. It is 3 star and although it says it is Central Park, it is really more like midtown. Not much shopping near the hotel and it shares reception with Courtyard Inn (one set of elevators to Residence Inn, one to Courtyard Inn). Person who checked us in at reception was excellent. We wanted an early check in and she was able to accommodate us. We were upgraded to a family studio suite with a single bed + a queen bed. Very spacious. View is pretty nice (we were in 46th flooor). Bed were comfy and walls OK although we could hear a crying baby slightly in the next room Hotel looks a bit worn and amenities are expected for a 3 star hotel. We called housekeeping for slippers and luggage rack but they never picked up in our whole stay there. Reception picked up and said they would send it up but it never came. Gym is adequate but worn. We had an early flight and they were nice enough to give us a take out breakfast. All in all, what you would expect with a 3 star hotel. Decent but no luxury. Very friendly staff. Didn't like that when we checked out, they pushed taxi/car service heavily....almost to a point I am sure they are getting a referral fee....that was the most attention we got our entire stay. If you can get the right price, it is a decent place to stay but not really somewhere you look forward to staying at.

“Centrally located hotel for shopping and broadway”

Our party of 4 had 2 rooms and stayed here for some christmas shopping. The hotel is well located on Broadway with everything you need nearby. Our party of 4 had 2 rooms and stayed here for some christmas shopping. The hotel is well located on Broadway with everything you need nearby. The rooms are very compact as is typical for New York with tiny bathrooms where water goes everywhere once one person has showered, they had a kitchenette area which took up a lot of space that could have been better used in the room. The views were great from the room although the air conditioning had to be turned off because it was too noisy. There is a marketplace type shop with some basic groceries etc. There was a good breakfast in this very busy large hotel but coming from Europe, we couldn't believe that everything was throwaway one use - thousands of cups/forks/spoons/knives/bowls/plates being piled up in bins every single day. We were amazed that a hotel chain of this size still shows so little regard for the environment. Nevertheless, a good location for a hotel for a weekend's shopping.
