“The Best of the Big Apple!”

This hotel never disappoints. I have been staying here over 40 years, and will always return here for my visits to NYC. The location, amenities, and customer care are among the best and I look forward to returning upon my next trip to the Big Apple.

Pros: First impression, valet was pleasant and helpful. They made us feel comfortable unloading our vehicle and insisted there was no rush. I appreciated that because it kept my family at ease even though there was a lot of traffic when we were checking in. Check-in was simple and the woman at the front desk had all of the information that I needed. Our family got connecting rooms and she made sure security came up to open the connecting door. Speaking of security, we felt very safe inside and outside of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is minimal furniture which kept the space feeling open. I read reviews where folks complained about the noise from the street but it was really not an issue for us. We slept great! The location is perfect. It’s steps to Times Square, broadway, 5th avenue, and all the rest. The hotel was, i believe reasonably priced. We booked a few months in advanced. Con’s: it’s not a con of the hotel but NYC in general, but food is wicked expensive. That being said, what do you expect I guess. Those businesses have to pay rent. To some it all up, you really can’t go wrong booking Hotel Edison. Fair price, clean, descent amenities, friendly and helpful staff, and fantastic location. Just be prepared to spend more than you think on food. P.s. We were given free breakfast for both days we stayed and were able to choose from 3 different restaurants to get it from. Friedman’s, Bond 45, and Carve.

“Overrated - must be kidding with 4 stars”

This was an ok experience. First time in the US and first time in NYC we decided on this hotel mainly because of ratings and location. How this hotel is rated four stars is a mystery. It’s dated and old and doesn’t resemble the pictures. Rooms are small and cramped. Staff is friendly but housekeeping and care takers are somewhat hostile and lazy, seem to not have a care in the world for their occupation. I would recommend an other area and probably also another hotel. Would love to have written a better review because NY was great, the hotel wasn’t.
