5/5 Wagwan my Jamaican brethen Ian big boss. He made the stay the greatest absolute unit at the door. Very helpful and funny brethen. If you stay here make sure u say Wagwan to him. Made me feel right at home. Room was nice bar was pon special ting.

My only choice in NYC. Stayed 6 times already. As a frequent business traveller, it has all you need. Location, service, smiles, cleanliness, good wifi, teras now for summer! Thanks to the great team, always ready to help, (Johnny, T.T., J.J. ) makes my stay a pleasure each time.

What a find this hotel was for us! The AKA Nomad is in an excellent location in the NOMAD neighbourhood (North of Madison Square Park) and is a nice, safe neighbourhood with few homeless people and fancy furniture stores scattered around. It is in a fantastic location - just around the corner from a subway station on the green line and a couple of blocks away from a subway on the yellow line. That said, it's also ideally located to walk to many attractions and is very close to the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, No. 1 Vanderbilt, The Chrysler Building, Madison Square Gardens, Flatiron building and Bryant Park, with Times Square about a 20 minute walk away too. Our room was spacious, with 2 comfortable double beds and plenty of shelving and drawers, albeit there was only a very small wardrobe to share between us. There was a fridge in our room, a kettle and a coffee machine, which we made use of every day. The one downside was that our bathroom (shower room) was absolutely tiny and poorly designed. The toilet was so large that you couldn't sit on it straight as it was literally joined to the adjacent shower screen. You had to sit on it at an angle, which was very awkward. Why on earth the designers didn't install a smaller sink and smaller toilet to make things more practical, we'll never know. There was some decent shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and body lotion provided, so no need to take your own, unless you're very fussy. Finally, one of the best things about this hotel was the fabulous staff, who were endlessly cheerful and pleasant and who always had a smile on their faces. They were extremely helpful and friendly and recommended some great places for us to eat, shop and sightsee. It was a delight to make their acquaintance. Special mentions to Ian, Blake, TT and the Dutch Manager with a man bun, whose name escapes me! They were all fantastic people and a credit to the hotel. Top tip - contact the hotel beforehand to arrange transport from the airport as it will be much, much cheaper. Guests who arrived just before us at the hotel had been ripped off to the tune of 200 dollars in a yellow taxi and then the driver expected a hefty tip too. We took the Uber option, thank goodness, which was considerably cheaper at 110 dollars, but still expensive. The staff organised a private car back to the airport for us, which cost 80 dollars. It's a no trainer for next time. Another tip : AVOID JFK AIRPORT IF YOU CAN. FLY TO NEWARK IN THE NEIGHBOURING STATE OF NEW JERSEY. JFK is a shocking airport - took us 1.5 hours to clear security. Ignorant and rude staff, not enough staff manning the counters, no air conditioning, no seats, just a very, very long line of fed up passengers crawling through. NEVER AGAIN.

“Good NYC stay”

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Simple rooms but spacious for a small NY room although I was not wowed. Common areas are beautiful and so creative but once you enter the room it looses its spark. Special thank you to Ian and Johnny who were very helpful and kind
