Was very happy with the room and cleanliness. Gated parking was very safe and secure as well. However I was very upset after I checked out; Noticing my cellphone was missing. So I turned around and went to the front desk. The security guard/attendant gave me my original card to check room. Once I couldn't find the phone I returned to my car. When I tried to start my vehicle it wouldn't start. I had been dealing with a bad battery; And was heading to Pepboys to make an appointment. I walked from the rear lot to the front of hotel. Once again I spoke with the same gentleman. I explained that I was unable to find my phone; And that someone was coming to give me a jump. He was very rude and told me to give him my room key. He also told me that I was not allowed back into the room. The problem is I wasn't trying to go back into my room. I only needed the key to let my friend inside to give me a jump. After asking the gentleman to listen to me( I was very nice and polite) He told me that when my friend arrives he would open the gate. So after getting a jump I stopped up front at first to thank the gentleman. But instead he ignored me after I waited for him to return to the front desk. I plan on returning or calling to speak with the hotel owner or manager. Besides his horrible customer service everything was fine. But I'll never stay there again until I speak with someone about how I was treated. I am 52 years old and very easy to get along with...... I understand things happen but I'm not at all happy with how I was treated.

“OK Budget Hotel - Close to French Quarter”

This hotel is just a short drive to area attractions and is close, but not too close to the highways. The exterior of the hotel has been well maintained and the outdoor pool was closed for resurfacing during our stay. The office staff at check in and out were courteous. Our room had been recently updated and was very clean with the exception of the carpet. Our bare feet actually turned black after walking on it. We did advise the housekeeping staff and they said they would vacuum, but we never saw a difference. We booked a handicap access room and the tub area was not at all handicap friendly. No taller grab bars on the shower head/faucet wall or side wall. 2 lower grab bars on the wall opposite the faucet, one of which was broken (pulled clear out of the wall anchors). The tub had unusually sloped sides and a super slippery bottom. We had to put a bath towel on the floor of the tub to feel reasonably safe while showering. The room was very quiet and there were no issues with the elevator taking us to the 4th floor. There are no views here - it's either another hotel on one side or a business on the other. They do have to make some repairs on the AC unit in the hall near the elevator as the tile floor in that area was always wet with water from the AC. They offer a complimentary continental breakfast, but it appeared to me that once set up, it was never attended to thereafter. The coffee is from a machine that is instant coffee - no brewed coffee. The first morning, no juices, the bread box had 1 bagel and a few slices of bread, 2 hardboiled eggs in a basket. The next morning, they had juices, no bagels, a basket of hardboiled eggs, and a waffle maker that was full of burned up batter. I did see cold cereal and yogurts. On both of my visits to the dining area I found the countertops and eating tables needed to be cleaned off. Again, no attention after setting it up. Our bed was comfy and we slept well. Be prepared to smell marijuana smoke as you traverse the hallways - just sayin'. I'll go 2-1/2 stars out of 5. It was just ok.
