“New Orleans get away”

I like the fact that the Plaza was away from the downtown area so we could get away from the bustle. It has very good access to the trolley, which is right across the street so we could go downtown when ever we wanted to. I don't like the fact that I had to pay for parking every day.

“Nice Stay in the Lower Garden District ”

A great place to stay in the Lower Garden District. Very convenient to the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line so easy to get to the French Quarter. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice courtyard area. Note: laundry services are available but not in the individual units.

This weekend was the second time we have stayed here (last stay was in fall of 2022) and we would most definitely stay here again. The best part of this hotel resort is the location. It is a perfect location for us. St. Charles street is a good distance away from the loud, crowded, dirty chaos of the French quarter but yet just a quick streetcar or Uber ride away. It is also a quick drive to the Superdome. There is still plenty to do in the Garden District and this area is beautiful. The hotel is old and shows some wear but there is effort to keep it maintained. The elevators are old and banged up. They are very very slow. On our visit this past weekend one of the elevators were out of service. Obviously, this can’t be helped but it was a major inconvenience and the hotel was sold out and very busy. We tried to take the stairs twice and they wouldn’t let us exit due to construction. This seems like some sort of safety violation. Maybe there were another set of stairs elsewhere. All the staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. Security seemed good. The lobby is small and crowded and it feels a bit cramped entering and exiting the hotel. Lots of congestion at the lobby desk and elevators. The first time we visited here were stayed in a studio. It was good size and comfortable. This time we stayed in a one bedroom suite. I actually preferred the studio. The layout of the suite was awkward and there wasn’t enough space. No dressing area. Closet wasn’t near the bedroom. The bathroom was entirely too small. No counter space. The living area was nice size and the furniture was comfortable. The rooms were very clean and somewhat modernized. But you can hear noises from the hall, neighboring rooms, and the street. Overall staying in the Garden District is a great option with safe walkable neighborhoods with many shops and restaurants. This hotel is a great choice and a good value and I recommend it.
