“Great location, beautiful historic hotel”
I stayed at the Cardinal for a couple of nights for my class reunion at Stanford and it was a perfect home base for taking advantage of Palo Alto and getting back and forth to campus. “Charming well cared for historic hotel with wonderful staff!”
We stayed here for Stanford move in day. It was a lovely stay in an impeccably cared for historic hotel. We booked the last available room and it had a shared bath. We were nervous about that but the shower and bathrooms were immaculate. We saw hotel staff all hours of the night keeping them clean… more

“My favourite hotel in Palo Alto”
This is my favourite hotel in Palo Alto. Decent price and perfect location. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The only thing I don't like is the breakfast, so I usually book teh room without breakfast and then go to a nearby like Coupa Cafe.

“great location but not much else”
Tis hotel is in a great location and is old world quaint however that is where the charm ends. There is no effort to make the customer comfortable with no common extras provided unless you pay extra. Coffee in the lobby is limited to one thermos so none is available after 8 am and its always cold.… more

“Meh. Wouldn’t return”
Classic old hotel. Staff was friendly. Bed was comfortable. The place was VERY noisy. The fan was creaking, you could hear every footstep on the floor above, the windows to the exterior won’t block out the noise. I stayed here for one night for work and was not impressed.
