“Weekend in Louisville”

Overall a nice hotel with an attached parking structure with a $19 daily charge. Very easy to get to off of I-65. Room was in excellent shape with an over sized shower. Breakfast was great, above the "norm". In a good location between 4th Street Live and Market Street.

We stayed there for the Kentucky Derby. Hotel was very full. Easy self parking on site. Staff very friendly and made a real effort with the Derby and free drinks the night before. Breakfast served in polystyrene bowls with plastic cutlery. Rooms really tired - don’t think they have been updated since the 60s😂. The plug points are awful and we were scared to leave things plugged in when we weren’t there as the plugs heated up. Bathroom tiny and bath / shower old and stained. Needs a good upgrade. But easy walk into main part of Louisville and felt very safe walking around. Lovely city

“Needs new carpets and remodel”

Good location, you can walk to many great restaurants. However, this property is in dire need of a remodel. Nice staff, just old, dirty carpets etc. it’s also confusing as it’s a Fairfield and Springhill, yet no front desk at the Springhill.

This property is attached to and part of Springhill Suites at the same location. To save you some time when you're checking in, go to the Springhill Suites part of the building. The Fairfield Inn check-in is closed. This would have been nice to know before getting to the building. The check-in parking is separated for each brand and since you can't check in at Fairfield, no need to park on that side. Both check-in and check-out were quick, but very stand-offish. The front desk staff didn't bother to make eye contact or even say thank you at any point. Not that I expect a 4-star experience, but a simple "We appreciate you staying" would have been nice. I don't know of the differences in the rooms, between the two sides, but my room was fairly basic. The bed was comfy, there was plenty of drawer space and the room did have a microwave and mini-fridge. Outlets are at a premium. There is a "block" with 3 outlets and 2 USB ports on one of the night stands. If you're like me and travel with a c-pap device, the nightstand with the outlets can run out of space very quickly as that is most likely where you'll plug in all of your devices (c-pap, phone charger, etc..). The bathroom is relatively small, but it works. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided. The shower has plenty of pressure and hot water was not an issue at all. The pool and workout facilities are shared between both brands for those who want to swim and/or workout. The hot breakfast was ok at best. Pre-made and wrapped Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were offered, as was the standard breakfast fare (cereal, muffins, bagels, etc.). This is pretty much the standard post-covid breakfast for most facilities. Parking...my biggest complaint. At the cost of $19/night, I expect them to at least ask for my license plate to verify that I belong in the attached garage. That did not happen. The gates for entry and exit were either locked in the up position or just plain missing. Honestly, I don't see how they can charge for something that's not enforced. Anyone could park in the garage for free. And I get that the signs that say they're not responsible for damage or theft to your vehicle are standard, but when zero control over who accesses the garage is asserted, I really wonder what I'm getting when paying $19/night. One other item to mention, the corner of Brook and Jefferson (where the parking garage sits) seems to be a gathering point for homeless. I had no issues with this, but some may want to pay attention to it. Just a heads up. Overall, this is a good location, budget friendly, but I can't say I'd stay here again. I'd put a few extra bucks down to get a nicer facility if I'm staying downtown.
