Excellent value, pleasant hotel and pleasant surroundings. This is a basic, no-frills hotel, but room is comfortable, clean and big, and the staff friendly and accommodating. Location is excellent. Breakfast not fancy, but has the basics: coffee, tea, juice, cereal, yogurt and a few other things. We didn't even rent a car and were able to walk to most places. I highly recommend it, and would stay here again.

My son and I stayed for 6 nights in this friendly, clean, and conveniently located boutique hotel. Every day we were greeted by name and also met many people from all over the world over the free continental breakfast/Keurig coffee served every day. Our room had the most comfortable linens and mattresses. The shower and toiletries are amazing. We love that there was a mini fridge and coffee maker in our room as well. We actually want to stay longer! The neighborhood is lovely and within walking distance of LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, Peterson Automotive Museum, Academy of Motion Pictures Museum, The Contemporary Craft museum, and outstanding food everywhere but especially at the corner one block away at Wilshire at Uovo. Not too far away also is the Historical Farmers Market. We have already recommended this hotel to our Family and a friend who lives locally in this neighborhood who may have family visiting soon. We will be back again soon for sure. Thank you 🙏

We found a great gem in Los Angeles. You want to get away this is it. Rooms are big, very roomy, possibly was an efficiency apartments building at one time - so the rooms are roomy. TV with cable. The staff is friendly. The price is very reasonable for the area. You can walk to the LA Museum, The Academy Museum, The Petersen, La Brea Pits! There is a McDonald's walking distance on Wilshire ( go out the door, turn left towards Crescent Heights blvd, cross Orange street walk toward Wilshire there will be a Wells Fargo where you find an outdoor ATM, turn right keep walking and you will find food places and look across the street when you are at McDonald's other eateries. You will also pass a Roof Top Restaurant which we did not try this time. There are restaurants for different budgets. The parking is street-parking and you are given a parking permit. We always found parking no matter what time we came in. This hotel is in a very safe and beautiful area. There is coffee 24 hrs via Kuerig so it's always fresh with a very good selection of coffee pods including Starbucks. Breakfast is continental with a large variety of prepackaged sweets, fruit, yogurt (Chobani) milk, & orange juice. Attractions are a short drive such as Griffith Park, Universal, Paramount, Warners, etc.... you are in the perfect place. Oh, very quiet place. Beautiful seating area to read and relax. Alway someone available in the front desk. Very clean and housekeeping available. We will be returning! Note: a local was staying here for a few days to get away from everything. It does feels like a retreat when you are there.

The Wilshire Crest is an interesting hotel, with a varied clientele - which might be described as "mostly back-packers." The Wilshire Crest is an interesting hotel, with a varied clientele - which might be described as "mostly back-packers." There is no elevator for guests, so ensure when you book that you have a room on the main floor! The bed had a night table on one side, nothing on the other. In our toom the toilet and tub/shower (which had no grab bars) were enclosed, with a door.; the sink, which had very little space for personal items, directly faced the bed, and the bright light could not be evaded! There was a good set of drawers; other furnishings were a small round glass table and two armless chairs. For relaxed reading or conversation there were two sofas near the breakfast room. Breakfast consisted of coffee or tea, some juice in cartons, and packaged items such as cereal bars. There is no parking lot, and guests who have cars are given parking permits to enable them to find parking spaces on the nearby streets, which may not be very close!
