“I would stay here again”

Decent rates, rooms are updated and clean, and the staff were helpful. Not much space for parking so that could be an issue if rooms are full. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance and there are typically scooters around to rent which makes it easy to get to the beach.

This hotel is located withing 10 minutes walking distance to a few fast food restaurants and local dining places. The 2 story building is small, offering free parking but essentially no real pool, gym, breakfast, shuttle service, or other notable amenities. Upon checkin and throughout my stay, I found the office staff to be quite friendly, helpful, and flexible enough to allow me a late checkout. I found my 2nd floor, street side room to be clean, modern, bug free, and well furnished with a firm, comfortable bed, office desk, sitting chair, and other attractive furniture. It also included an iron, board, hairdryer, large fridge, coffee maker, and nice bedding and towels. The bathroom and glass door shower was equally nice. This adds up to a very good, 4 star room; however... There are a few problems that counter the positives of this hotel. First, the internet was poor during my entire 3 day stay. It cycled on and off constantly and in the evenings was inadequate for watching a movie. The nice place deserves better, and this is an important feature that the hotel could easily improve on. Second, the street traffic was noticeably obtrusive, especially in the busy mornings, when even the room fan couldn't mask the noise. It's not the hotel's fault of course and not as loud as other places I've stayed, but a factor for prospective guests to consider. Third, the hotel is located in a marginal area, with boarded up businesses, graffiti, and transients living on the nearby sidewalks. It's safe enough to walk around in the daytime, but clearly not an attractive tourist area one would seek out. I don't blame the hotel for this, but it still affects the desirability of whether guests would want to stay here. Overall, this is a nice on the inside / marginal on the outside type of place with few amenities and a typically high California price. I think the hotel will deserve its 4 star rating if it upgrades its internet. Even now though, given the area's alternatives, I'd recommend it as the best value option in Venice Beach. Anything nicer will certainly cost much more.

“Ramada Marina Del Rey”

This location and establishment fulfilled our needs. The room was small but adequate. The staff was fine. The parking lot was small and difficult to maneuver with a large vehicle. We were very appreciative that the breakfast was small but nice with choices for all, including our vegan needs.
