“Great Downtown LA Hotel”

Daughter was there for a conference and I got to tag along. Beautiful hotel with spacious, well-appointed room, helpful staff. Restaurants nearby right out the back door. Close walk to convention center was a little longer because of the BET Award Show being set up outside. Highly recommend.

The JW is a big city hotel. So do not expect any personal touches, and certainly do not expect the staff to be particularly friendly. There is only one exception to that and that would be Joy, who literally was so nice at the front desk, she may be the saving force of this review because she made me feel so good. Don't get me wrong the hotel is very nice. The lobby is loud and makes you feel like you are in the heart of nightlife in the biggest city in California. Once you are up to your room, the rooms are absolutely quiet and they are large and well accommodated. The linens are soft and wonderful and the towels are plush. The large room allowed me to spread out and make myself at home. There was plenty of outlets to plug devices into, and they were on both sides of the bed, which is really a plus. The view I had was not very attractive, basically just an ugly wall view, but I get it, it's the city, so some rooms have to have these views. That being said, if this is important to you, you better figure out how to get the view since they did not seem to guarantee views. I did use the gym, which was quite nice. Wonderful modern updated equipment, and they really made you feel welcome with water bottles and towels on all of the machines. The bar in the hotel was expensive, but that makes sense. It was also very very loud. The location was everything. It was in the heart of LA Live, which means all of the arenas, and the LA Convention center, and also all of the great bars and restaurants.

We had a 1 night stay here for a basketball game in the Crypto. We are a family of 4 booked the cheapest room on their website. It was perfect for us, even better for my kids it was on the 21st floor. They were very happy about that! We'd a great view. The hotel itself is business and conference but it's location near the Crypto made us book. It was a 5min walk to the stadium. Hotel was quiet, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. The area around the hotel isn't great but we felt safe here.

My friend and I stayed here for a short getaway. When we got to the hotel like other major companies, their systems were down. This did not affect our check-in, and the staff had security take all guest to their rooms. While checking in, they end us know about our daily $20 credit that refreshed every day at 11 am. Good to use in the hotel for food. We also received our hotel passport, which gave us perks to businesses around the area. Perks like getting free admission to the Grammy museum for up to 2 people and daily wine tasting at the hotel. We did take advance of the free admission to the Grammy museum. It's around the block from the hotel. There is a promo code on the passport to get your tickets online, but it doesn't work. We had to bring our passport to the museum. The room was very nice and we had a great view of the crypto center. My friend and I absolutely loved the beds and pillows here! I had the best sleep ice ever had in years! Our stay overall was great! The only issue we had was with our bill. I didn't have time to settle or review my bill at checkout. When I got back home, I noticed an extra room service charge, and I didn't see the $20 credit for some of the food items we bought at the hotel. I contacted their billing department and was able to get the extra room service charge refunded. But I still have not heard back about the $20 credit. I wish they itemized their bills to show the credits in that particular column, but I still haven't received that. All the employees are really nice and courteous. While I was waiting for our luggage from storage, one of the security employees was complimenting people walking by. I told him he's so sweet and observes people very well. I would stay here again, but I would just make sure to settle my bill before I leave.
