My wife and I had a late check-in following a long flight from Australia. We were made most welcome, the room was spotless, great bed, great sleep and breakfast the following morning fit for a king. THEN - left for LA only to realise an the following day that I had lost my wristwatch (an expensive one). Phoned the Holiday Inn and was advised that housekeeping had found my watch, returned to the hotel and was handed my watch. MANY THANKS to the domestic staff who found it and to at the front desk Valissa who assisted me in the process.

“Overall a good stay”

“Comfortable beds and nice facility”

I visited 3 different Holiday Inn Express hotels in 3 different cities within a week. They more or less have the similar standards. This one by the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) had a good quality, nice and maintained facilities and the most comfortable bed comparing with the others. The only disadvantage was the traffic noise coming from the main streets on both sides of the hotel. The windows need to be well isolated. Just a quick note, unfortunately none of the Holiday Inn hotels provide bottled water in the rooms. You need to purchase yourself. Also no tissue box and shoe horn provided.

I am mixed on this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and that was a big bonus plus having a hotel serving complimentary breakfast was also greatly appreciated. The employees at the hotel were super friendly while the first shuttle driver not so much. Location is not the best if one is walking. I did two nights to check out a few sights and after being to this city several times, I navigated the transit quite well. During the day, it wasn't horrible walking the area but at night when I popped over to the 7-11 next door, the "creepiness" factor was felt. Also note--my room faced that store and during the night they blast loud classical music in an attempt I would imagine to keep people from sleeping out in front. Though it was not loud and overbearing, I could still hear it in my room. Aside from that, it was what I would expect it to be. One important closing statement--when I booked my room for a few extra dollars more I could choose a king room, extra floor space. These do not exist. On the first morning as I passed all rooms, with house cleaning having the doors open, I looked in and saw that they were all the same as mine with the only difference being either a king bed or two queens. Later that day I asked the front desk agent about this, thinking that perhaps those "extra floor space rooms" were all allocated to one floor instead but I was told that all the rooms are the same size. Mind now, it wasn't going to break the bank the difference that I paid, but it was misleading and with this brand, at a minimum, I did not expect this kind of practice so that was somewhat disappointing to say the least. In closing, the rooms, though clean and with breakfast being offered, this does not offset that booking experience nor the lack of soundproofing. In addition to the music from the 7-11, I could also hear conversations in the next room and it seemed like every screaming child that was taking a flight from LAX was staying at this hotel running the hallways all hours of the day.
