“Good hotel”

This hotel is old and dated, but has been renovated. We have been here several times and have always stayed in the renovated West tower. The room has 2 queen beds, 2 upholstered chairs, 1 floor lamp, a desk with a lamp that has USB and outlet, 1 safe, 1 refrigerator, bedside lamp with outlet and USB. There is not enough light in the bathroom. The shower is nicely tiled with sliding glass panel doors. My complaint is that the elevators always seem to have issues. Sometimes, of the 3 elevators, only 1 elevator works. The staff is quite friendly and really try to accomodate the guests. One night, the air-conditioning turned on instead of the heat and the temperature of the room was down to 67 degrees. The maintenance staff repaired this issue in the morning. We had room 2041, which is too far from the elevator. The odd number rooms face the East and the morning sun streams into that side of the hotel. This is Not so good if you want to sleep in a little later. The best part of the hotel is the Market Street Cafe, which serves their famous Oxtail soup beginning at 11pm. The restaurant staff is very friendly and accomodating. Since this is a Hawaiian theme hotel and casino, the menu has many Hawaiian/Asian influenced food items. All of those items are very good. I did not try the other restaurants there. Every time that I walked by the other restaurants, I did not see many diners in those restaurants. Tip: ask for even numbered rooms in the West tower if you don't want the morning sun. Ask for lower numbered rooms that are closer to the elevator if you don't want to walk so far to your room.

Fremont Street was great and this place is only 100 yards away. The rooms were big and clean but had a smell of simple. Fremont Street was great and this place is only 100 yards away. The rooms were big and clean but had a smell of simple. As you entered the hotel you entered the casino which had a constant haze of smoke, people playing the machines 24 hours a day. If these things don’t bother you then book with confidence. Nice staff and a good price. Buffet brunch at the adjoining Main Street Station hotel at around $26 per head, as much as you can eat breakfast and lunch items.
