I was incredibly nervous about going to Casa Marina after reading some of the reviews, as I really needed a comfortable, relaxing and drama free trip. Having just returned yesterday, I can't rave about the hotel enough and felt obligated to share my glowing feedback. We stayed for five nights in an ocean view lanai room by the kids pool. With two kids, this in and out access is amazing and well worth the extra money. I could hear the waves crashing from the lanai, and it was just so relaxing! Having done the spa, excursions through the hotel, extensive dining and spent a ton of time on property engaging with the staff and enjoying the amenities, paired with a background traveling worldwide and staying in nice hotels/resorts, here is my honest review. I hope it leaves you feeling excited to book/stay at Casa Marina. Dining: We did the morning buffet each day. With two kids, it worked out great. It's a lot of food but ideal when with the family. We pre-booked this when booking our room. We also dined at lunch and dinner on the property many days and did the "Toes in the Sand" tasting menu on the beach at sunset, which was excellent and romantic. I would do it again! We also enjoyed our fair share of drinks at the Canary Bar, pool, and in the restaurants, and they were all so delicious! My kids enjoyed the coffee shop/gift shop for snacks and ice cream. 9 out of 10! Staff: Everyone was super friendly at Casa Marina! The only snafu we had was a slight (and very minor) miscommunication with a housekeeping staff member that didn't speak English. Everything was resolved promptly and with a smile. I felt so welcomed by everyone, especially the dining team members. We had excellent service at all the restaurants. I just wish there were more attendants at the pool and on the beach for drinks. 9 out of 10! Excursions: You can book excursions literally onsite leaving from the resort. Highly recommend the jet ski tour around the island. Team was great, and I will do more next time. The concierge team was awesome! 9 out of 10! Spa: While the spa is not as robust as other resorts, the staff and services were excellent. I would definitely go back! They may be a little pricey, but honestly they aren't as bad as other resorts I've been to. I do wish they had a lounge area/locker room, as it's hard to go from the tranquility of the spa to the bright outdoors immediately. 7 out of 10! Rooms: The rooms are pretty standard hotel size rooms. It was a wee bit tight with four of us sharing a room. It really was more of an issue with the bathroom being a bit small. Regardless, the rooms are nice. The linens are good quality and the beds are comfortable. I do wish our room had bathrobes. I recall those being an amenity but perhaps our room didn't have them?? I would book the ocean view lanai room again but ask for a room that has lounge chairs in lieu of a table and chairs. We were in 118 on the West Wing. The lanai allowed everyone to spread out. My only warning is that on a wedding weekend the lawn by this room could get loud. Not a problem to us but could be an issue to others. 7 out of 10! Grounds/Amenities/Location: The property is stunning and clean! I've stayed in many old hotels around the world, and I think they do a pretty good job of maintaining this hotel. I prefer the location of Casa Marina to other hotels in Key West. You are a 5-7 minute Uber ride from anywhere you would want to go. We preferred to walk most days to sites/outings, walking 3-5 miles round trip. On foot, you are about 15 mins from the Southernmost Point, 20 to Hemingway's house and 25 or so to Mallory Square walking at a leisurely pace. Keep in mind we had a six year old with us! I can't imagine staying off Duval or near Mallory Square, as it would be loud and not as peaceful. While at Casa Marina, you can also walk over to The Reach next door, which we did but found Casa Marina much nicer. 9 out of 10! Back at work today, we are missing Casa Marina! My discerning teenage daughter even said that it was a trip she was sad about leaving and that doesn't happen often! We will definitely return! Thank you, Casa Marina, for a great trip and wonderful memories!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Key West! Our room at Casa Marina was amazing. The view of the resort and waterfront was spectacular from our balcony. Our itinerary while visiting Key West was action-packed! Activities included a guided jet ski tour that circumvented the island, a private tour of the city, a sunset helicopter tour, and a day of snorkeling. I’m so glad I received the assistance of Cassy (a concierge affiliated with Casa Marina) since our time was limited and there’s so much to see and do. When visiting Key West, I highly recommend you stay at Casa Marina and be sure to have Cassy help plan your stay. Richard Rampi (Orlando)

We've visited Key West many times and decided to try this hotel on this trip. In the past, we've stayed at their sister hotel, The Reach (see my review). We had a rental car and when checking in were told it would cost us $48/day for valet parking or $43/day to park in the lot in front of the hotel. This is hard to swallow as most people are already paying $500+ night to stay here. The check-in staff were very professional and helpful. Our room faced a back parking area. We asked if we could upgrade (overlooking pool) and was told it would be an additional $200/per night…we declined. The room was spacious, clean, and the bathroom had a large sliding ‘barn’ door with no lock on it. In addition, it was heavy to open & shut. The first use of the shower showed the drain to be clogged and would backup 2” of water. We called the front desk, and a maintenance person promptly appeared and fixed it. This is an old hotel that has been completed redone. But it was done over the older existing framework. At any time, we could easily hear people talking next door and out in the hallway. We could also hear people walking upstairs. There is little if any soundproofing in the walls and ceilings. There was a small fridge in the room but no microwave. The outside landscape is quite beautiful, with giant palm trees lining the walkway down to the pool and beach area. You can ask an attendant, and they will set up lounge chairs with towels and an umbrella. We ordered two drinks, and it took 20+ minutes for them to get back with them. The margarita (in a small glass) was $21, and the Blue Moon beer was $9. The hotel is very close to Duvall Street, and it is an easy walk to many landmarks. There is a Cuban marketplace right across the street. All in all, if we were to stay in this particular area, we would choose The Reach, which is just down the beach. The beach area is nicer and the hotel infrastructure more modern (quieter walls, ceiling).
