Arriving at Miami International Airport to return to Rome, we had the invaluable assistance of Mr. Joshua who, at the automatic check-in before the Air Canada desk, so I don't think an Air Canada employee, helped us so much to understand how we had to make our boarding passes and what to do with our luggage. “MIA is improving”
MIA is improving! Last time I’ve visited it in 2017 it was a long wait (3 hours +) for everything from bagge claims to passport control and customs. This time everything was so smooth and quick (less than an 1 hour) even thow it was a big traveling day. The negative is that the restrooms are discu… more
MIA is improving! Last time I’ve visited it in 2017 it was a long wait (3 hours +) for everything from bagge claims to passport control and customs. This time everything was so smooth and quick (less than an 1 hour) even thow it was a big traveling day. The negative is that the restrooms are discussing and the fast tracks bands are broken in some places so you get to do some extra walking.

“Still a run down hotel charging $250+”
The rooms have been "refurbished". That means that they have put new carpet and new furniture in the rooms and painted the doors. The hotel now feels like a very old, sad, hotel that has had a million people go through it, but with new furniture in the rooms. The ceiling area around the a/c stil… more
The rooms have been "refurbished". That means that they have put new carpet and new furniture in the rooms and painted the doors. The hotel now feels like a very old, sad, hotel that has had a million people go through it, but with new furniture in the rooms. The ceiling area around the a/c still looks a bit unhealthy. The drain stop in the sinks still don't work. The shower is still a bit old. The shower rail still has a bit of rust. If it wasn't for the location this would be $99 a night hotel, but because it is right there in the airport with no need for a taxi or Uber they charge $250 +. It's not absolutely horrible, but it's not great. Other hotels around the airport get horrible reviews as well. Someone told me that the Doubletree was OK.
